I think one of Kemba or Al has to go. Might as well surround Kemba with shooters and see how he fares. If Kemba can't get his act together yet again this season then just ride with him til Curry becomes a FA and offer Curry a ludicrous 130MM deal.

At least the trades make this team really interesting. The offseason is better than our regular season.

I honestly do not get how Kemba needs to "get his act together."

I understand that he had some really bad rough patches last year, but that was simply not his fault. He was hurt for a good chunk of the season, and when he wasn't hurt, the rest of the team was. Kemba had to carry the team for very long stretches last year, and the only players who can really put teams on their backs with no help around them are the superstars like LeBron and Westbrook.

When Kemba has healthy teammates around him, he's shown FREQUENTLY that he can shoot at much higher percentages and his assist percentages get a massive bump. I don't think it's a matter of Kemba playing better, I think it's a matter of the team just staying healthy.

Going to be interesting to see what the Kemba apologists will come up with this year.

"He's played with Henderson his entire NBA career. Now Henderson is gone of course Kemba will need time to adjust".

"He's not used to playing with Batum. Of course Kemba will need time to adjust".

"Batum, Lamb, PJ, Daniels - it's too many SG's. How is Kemba meant to be able to adjust to so many styles?"

"Kemba didn't know he'd need to be able to speak French. It's not his fault him and Batum aren't on the same page".

"Hawes needs too many touches to be effective".

"Teaming Lamb with Kemba confused Kemba and had him thinking he was back in college. It's not his fault he thought there was more time on the shot clock with each possession".

"Trading Vonleh meant we HAD to go big with the #9 pick leaving Kemba to carry the PG duties all on his own so he is exhausted leading to poor play".

"He's too young to be the longest serving member of our team. He needs more bet support".

It's going to be awesome.

From this:

Kemba - Mo - Roberts
Hendo - Lance - Daniels
MKG - PJ - Taylor
Zeller - Marvin - Vonleh
Al - Biz - Max

To this:

Kemba - Roberts
Batum - Lamb - Daniels
MKG - PJ
Zeller - Marvin
Al - Hawes

Without interfering with our ability to resign Biz or Mo, using our MLE, using our biannual exception, or moving any first round draft picks.

So I forgot the Knicks don't have a first rounder next year. I wonder if they would do 9 and next year's pick and whatever else for the 4. As long as Okafor and Russell aren't there.

Phil really likes Kaminsky. Maybe Jordan is playing games with his old buddy by saying we really want him. That way if Phil wants to trade out to get him it would have to be with us to make sure he gets to select him.

Well, now that I'm not totally outnumbered I won't have to repeat my hatred for a multiplier effect.

I ripped general manager Rich Cho in a column Thursday. But if Winslow fell to Charlotte, nobody could rip this pick. And he did fall. The Pistons inexplicably decided to take Stanley Johnson.

So go to the bench, Nicolas Batum. The Hornets have their man.

I left the press room at Time Warner Cable Arena to feel the excitement from fans. Oh, were fans excited. They tittered like kids. Commissioner Adam Silver walked to the lectern and announced that with the ninth pick the Hornets selected – Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky.

Thus did the excitement end. Fans were shocked and sad and really angry.

*****

I don’t know who made this pick. But it is evident the Hornets are hung up on tall men from the Big Ten.

Draft night is supposed to be exhilarating and exciting.

Until the Hornets made their pick it was.

This is how mad I am that we passed on Winslow.

My last name is Cho. And I think Rich has got to go.

First Cody, then Vonleh, then Kaminsky. I'm done with this team's drafting.

This man drafted Cody Zeller in 2013 and has been trying to draft him ever since.

He's gotta go.

...talent acquisition is the weakest facet of this franchise...Cho is the hierarchy’s flaw. Cold but true: If he continues to miss, fans won’t miss him when Charlotte finds a new general manager...My unsolicited advice Thursday is to emphasize instinct over analytics. If you’re going to draft a guy who can run and jump, try to ensure that he can play. If I make the pick I work to move up and take Hezonja. When that fails, I look to move down. When that fails, I take Cauley-Stein.

I get to fail.

Cho does not.

On Cho's picks…

Vonleh

Is he an athlete or a player?

PJ

Hairston spent the season going one-on-one against life. Life won.

Zeller

Zeller is 7-foot and he had the numbers Cho loves; he ran faster and jumped higher than the highly regarded big men that came out in the draft. What we’ve seen in Zeller’s two seasons (the latter cut short by injury): not much.

MKG

In 2012 Charlotte took Michael-Gilchrist with the draft’s second pick. Many of you don’t want to hear this, but MKG can play. He’ll never average 20 points . But he’s relentless, and every season he’s improved every facet of his game. You want him in your locker room and on your roster. In related news, the No. 2 pick in the draft should be pretty good.

Kemba

If Walker refines his jump shot, he’s a potential All-Star.

Biz

Biyombo is a nice guy.

As for Clifford...

Steve Clifford they have a coach who, because of a paucity of talent, has to create rotations with duct tape and hope. Players respect him enormously.

Does he read my stuff?
