Robinson is basically Beasley with work ethic. It's going to come down to Robinson or Beal in my opinion. I just don't see the Bobcats going after MKG. He just doesn't offer them much as far as offense is concern.

chad for chat today

MIke (Dc)

Don't you think the Wiz should do everything in their power to get MKG including trading up to 2?
Chad Ford
(1:02 PM)

No. They should be content at 3. MKG would be a great fit for them. But so would Bradley Beal and even Thomas Robinson and Harrison Barnes. They'll get a great player at 3.

Harris (ATL)

How good is MKG? Some people say scoring machine in NBA, others that he lacks actual basketball skills.
Chad Ford
(1:06 PM)

Doubt he's a scoring machine. And no, he doesn't lack basketball skills. He's still developing as a shooter and a ball handler. But he's an incredible finisher around the basket, is an elite defender who can guard multiple positions and plays as hard as anyone I've ever seen. His skills will improve. Comps go from the high end of a Scottie Pippen or Andre Iguodala to the mid range of a Gerald Wallace or Shane Battier. After seeing the Celtics out-will and out-work the Heat -- I think GMs recognize that having a killer instinct and a great motor are basketball skills.

Jerry (Texas)

Do you think Beal will finally find his shot in the NBA, his shot was good but not great in college?
Chad Ford
(1:09 PM)

I do. Has as pure of a stroke as you are going to find. He shot 46 percent from three in his last five games -- which were heated affairs in the SEC and NCAA Tournament. Hit just about everything when I saw him working out in Chicago. People who have watched him his whole life feel he's the best shooter to come into the draft in a while.

Jeremy H (Minneapolis)

Who, besides Drummond, could be the biggest potential "bust" this year?
Chad Ford
(1:10 PM)

I think he and Perry Jones are vying for that honor right now. I actually think Drummond has less bust potential however, because he's so big and athletic, at the very least he'll rebound and block shots. Bust really depends on where you draft them and how long they stay in the league. Kwame was a bust as a No. 1 pick. But as a Top 10 pick -- he was solid.

Tom (Australia)

Reading a lot of rumours that Barnes is the Cavalier's guy, how good do you think he can be next to Irving?
Chad Ford
(1:12 PM)

We've had Barnes in our Mock to Cleveland since Lottery Night in part, because the Cavs had a strong interest in drafting Barnes last year at No. 4 and were very disappointed when he pulled out of the draft. He's a great fit because he can really shoot the basketball and he can guard his position. He won't be great until he gets a better handle, but as a No. 2 guy next to Irving ... it's an ideal fit for him.

Trent (Canada)

How does Lillard compare as a prospect to Kemba Walker last year? They seem to have similar measurables and college stats.
Chad Ford
(1:21 PM)

Lillard's a much better shooter. He's bigger. Has more of a NBA body. He's probably a more explosive leaper. Walker obviously had much more experience playing against top competition and developed into more of a point guard. I think Lillard is a better prospect ...

Scott (Northglenn, CO)

Saw a mock with Tony Wroten going to the Nugs..com'd to poor man's Russ Westbrook...fair comparison?
Chad Ford
(1:28 PM)

Wroten actually has much better floor vision. Westbrook a more explosive athlete. Neither could shoot out of college. Both have great size and are lock down defenders. I think there are a lot more questions about Wroten's maturity and leadership skills however. Rondo is frankly, another comp. Wroten has that much potential. Just a lot of teams worried about whether he can live up to it.

Sean (PDX)

How much stock do GMs and scouts put into a prospect's intensity and motor? After seeing the success of Faried this year in Denver, do you think the powers-that-be look more into motor than in the past? If that's the case, does Drummond slip for that reason?
Chad Ford
(1:45 PM)

Yes, it's becoming increasingly important. And yes, it's why Drummond, Perry Jones and to a lesser extent, Harrison Barnes, have slid a little

The Warriors would like to upgrade their starting small-forward spot.

Golden State reportedly would like to trade a combination of its four first-round picks for Andre Iguodala, Nicolas Batum, Luol Deng, Rudy Gay, Danny Granger or Josh Smith.

"Having four picks is a tremendous situation to be in, and I think we can do some good things with it," general manager Bob Myers said. "We're excited. We have a tremendous amount of assets, which puts us in good shape to explore a variety of opportunities. It's up to us to make something of it."

Maggette for the 7th pick??

I know he was there before but that was a different coaching staff. Make it happen Cho.

He is no where near the level of the guys listed. Plus he is an expiring so he is not the long term option they are looking for. Might as well trade for one of those guys instead of risking getting a guy in free agency.

I know it's unlikely but what if they can't reach a deal for any of the others? The only one I could see being moved is Gay, maybe they have to have a backup plan. Trust in Cho.

Also the Raps are looking to possibly move the #8 but want to package it with Bargs, I like Bargs but not his contract.

I like Bargs and think he could be an awesome fit with Bismack if Biz bulks up and improves his rebounding. bargnani would be a 22+ ppg scorer on this team

8 and bargnani for 2 and maggette? and then pick up Lamb at 8....think theyd bite?

I think there is a strong possibility. From hearing their fans the team really wants to move Bargs before Valencius arrives.

I don't think a rebuilding team would take on Bargnanis contract. Hes due 43 million over the next 4 years and is an abysmal rebounder. Id much rather keep the 2nd pick and just let Maggette expire.

He is indeed an abysmal rebounder but he is also a very good scorer, shooter, and still young and 7 feet tall.

Kemba/Lamb/Hendo/Bargnani/Bismack could be a nice lineup

Yuck!! Do not want Bargnani especially if we have to give up the 2nd pick.

I'd take Bargnani over most of the players in the draft. He's that good in the right system.

I'd insist that Toronto take Tyrus though. Have to dump that contract if we're taking one back. Then call Philadelphia about #8 for AI. Screw rebuilding, we'll be in the playoffs next year.

You don't think Lamb+Bargnani is better than whoever we get at 2? Yeah we give up an expiring for a long term contract..but lets not act like we're gonna be attracting a 20ppg scorer via f/a here anytime soon without giving em an even worse contract than Bargs. plus if something amazing comes up via f/a we always have the Tyrus amnesty card to play

I just do not see Bargnani as the best player on a playoff contender no matter what pieces are around him. I like Lamb, but he is not on Beals level in my mind and Bargnani contract would be something we would be stuck with. He is horrible defensively and doesnt care about rebounding. I dont think Biz can even cover up for his lack of effort on that side of floor. His scoring is nice, but its not like he is an elite level scorer. Teams let him get his I think and that could be a different story in the playoffs.

I never said build around Bargnani like he's our star...and if we could acquire a 20ppg guy for the price of moving down from 2 to 8 in this draft I think thats a fair enough tradeoff. Lamb and Bargnani could both be 20+ ppg scorers in a couple years. and we'd be bad enough next year to keep adding pieces

We've already got a homeless version of Bargs in Mullens. I'd rather see if Mully can improve, wouldn't be far-fetched to think he could become a 20ppg guy in a year or two if he works on his game.

Byron Mullens becoming a 20ppg player is one of the most far-fetched things i've heard on this forum.
