Yes please. Hell, I'd rather have Ellis than Stephenson regardless.

I'm not a fan of Monta Ellis on this team, but at least his contract is more reasonable than the offers I've heard being thrown around for Stephenson, and Ellis is a better scorer, just a lesser defender that hopefully could get disguised in Clifford's system a bit like Sessions was when he played off-guard next to Kemba for extended minutes

I assume Dallas would want good value for Ellis given his contract- Zeller for Ellis? I'd do it.

I wonder what would it take for us to pry Tyreke Evans from the Pelicans. They've been rumored to be desperate to get rid of either Evans or Eric Gordon's contract. I wouldn't mind Evans on the Hornets, as it will add talent as well as give us a jack of all trades versatile guard/wing off the bench that could be used as a backup point guard that could play extended minutes alongside Kemba in the backcourt

FYI, I know he lacks perimeter shooting but Tyreke Evans is a career 17-5-5 guy

I would give the Pelicans Gerald + JT for him, saves them about 5 million and they get his replacement

I wouldn't touch Evans with a ten foot pole. If you can get Lance for the same amount of money, why not just sign the guy that can shoot a little and defend a lot? Evans is just a PG version of Hendo, he can't shoot worth a damn. We need to replace Hendo with a high IQ sg that can shooooooooooooooooooot.

You guys all complain about lack of floor spacing with Hendo and MKG, and then you guys want to shell out 3 years and 33M on Tyreke Evans?

I'm not one of those floor #spacing complainers. I just want for Charlotte to add talent, playmakers that can handle the ball, and let the rest sort itself out. We were a far & away net positive starting lineup albeit having Henderson in it. If Henderson was a better playmaker that forced defenses to dole some attention his way, I wouldn't be hammering for his replacement as much

I'll take the blame for proposing a trade for Tyreke Evans. He's a local guy around Philly since he's from Chester and I've always admired his skill sets as a taller guard

Me too. I really like him, but he is an absolutely horrible fit here. He provides significantly less spacing than Lance or even Henderson. Spacing is a necessity with the offense that we run.

If we can get the shooters to go with him Evans could run the 2nd unit pretty well

I don't like the 'Alfense' we run. I wish we turn into a more uptempo offense going into next season to benefit the rest of the roster not named Jefferson

Defense is our 'bread & butter', not Al's offense. I'm not trying to attack you with this post, just stating my stance

Evans hasn't been giving the chances Henderson has. We suck at developing young talent but the kings are all time worst at it. Isn't he 6'4 they had hi. Playing small forward. He needs the ball in his hands but New Orleans improved when they inserted him into their line up. Gordon will be the odd man out.

Evans is 6'6 and a ridiculously underrated player at this point.

I'd prefer him a hundred times out of a hundred over Henderson.

Looks like Cleveland will need a third team to complete the Love deal. What do you think about this deal? It works with trade checker.

Cha gets: Kevin Martin, Chase Budinger
Minny gets: Waiters, T. Thompson, Bennett, Hendo, Protected Cleveland 1st, Charlotte 2nd
Cleveland gets: Zeller, Love

Kemba/FA
K-Mart/Neal/PJ
MKG/Budinger/Taylor
Marvin/Vonleh
Al/Biz
That definitely increases our scoring punch and gives us a deep second unit.

Zeller, Hendo, and a 2nd for Martin and Budinger? I'm gonna pass...

I am not a Zeller fan but this is garbage for him. I was willing to give him up in a sign and trade for a good player but not for such a weak return.

Budinger blows. Zeller, Neal, Hendo for Martin and Minny's 2nd next year. If we're going to do a deal like that, might as well gain flexibility for Lance, a PG, and a big.

Al/Biz
Marvin/Vonleh/Adrien
MKG/CDR/PJ
Lance/Martin/JT
Kemba/Lance/FA

I would happily trade Zeller for a 20ppg scorer and an additional $6M in cap space to go after Stephenson, then still be able to get Adrien, CDR, and a PG.

We shouldn't need the extra money to go after Lance and Martin as a backup won't score that much and can't play a lick of defense.

The Al-fense is tied to our defense though. Clifford likes to limit the opponents' PPP by slowing down pace and running a down tempo offense. I wish we played up-tempo and ran though, our entire roster is built for it except that one guy.

The Kings are terrible but to be fair to them they tried him everywhere. He looked great as a PG his rookie year but it didn't move the needle. They tried him at SG but he can't shoot. They tried him as a SF but he wilts without the ball in his hands. He's just not a very good team player. I'd still take him over Hendo b/c he's better but his contract is awful. It would make sense if Kemba was a much better shooter.

Now if the choice was Lance vs Tyreke plus a pick or some incentive to take Evan's contract off of N.O. I'd maybe lean towards Tyreke since he isn't a nutter.

I'd tend to disagree that our defense is tied to 'Alfense'. I believe the merits of the defense is built on not crashing the offensive glass so that we can get back on defense as a team to prevent transition baskets, and having perimeter defenders that don't need a lot of help defending one-on-one, while the rest is about helpside rotations. The scheme of our defense was rather simplified last season to a base set, but Clifford stated that he'll make it more complex as he & the team before more acquainted with each other over the years
