Looks like if we want Lance, he is ours for the taking now with Dallas out of the mix. That's if we are even looking at him.

I'd give him 2 years, $25m and call it an offseason.

EDIT: Well, maybe a Deng 2/$20m.

Dallas can't sign Lance now with Parsons eating their cap. It's between us, Atlanta, Phoenix, and garbage teams. I don't think there's another team out there worth a second look with that kind of space left. I would definitely consider ourselves front-runners.

Phoenix reported to be interested in a S&T

ATL traded away a promising Nogeureia and Lou Williams to go after free agents and Lance is a good fit with Korver and Teague

That's all I can think of. I wouldn't even include Indiana. They would be in luxury tax hell.

I came here to see how much room you guys still had for Lance, and saw this.

Not even close. Scola's contract is only guaranteed for a small portion. We could save like 3 mil cutting him. We still have the stretch provision to use that could save us a few million as well if needed. Also we could trade Mahinmi or Copeland for someone's player exception for a team needing a backup C or shooting. We have options.

That's also how we're capable of doing a S&T with Lance as well. Reports here are unanimous, our offer is still on the table.

We can offer him 13 mill or so a year

That's true, but the fact that Indiana gave him an offer far below his value (which Lance declined), and that the Aren't you guys at something like $73M in salaries now? Scola waives 3M, Copeland can be moved, freeing another 3M, then what? The Pacers need Mahinmi otherwise there's nobody to backup Hibbert who is highly unreliable. Lance can still get $13M from us, and you're still a few million over the cap without any kind of depth on the roster. You'd have 80M+ in George, Hill, Lance, Hibbert, West, Miles, Mahinmi, and Watson, with several roster spots to fill. Are the Pacers willing to go into luxury tax at all?

Atlanta would be a disaster. Our division is already tough (for the east)

Saying you can free up cap space by trading/stretching guys means nothing. In that case there are 29 other teams that could make a run at Lance.

Just MHO but 13 is the absolute max the team should have been willing to offer to Lance. Less than Al, which is important. 10 or 11 a year with an option on that 3rd year is probably more realistic given his history.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Please make a offer to Stephenson. I'm practically begging so that I can have some optimism going into next season

You may be able to offer him 13m a year, but the fact is that you haven't extended an offer to Lance yet, and several local Charlotte writers have said they don't think Charlotte is very interested in Lance.

Our main beat writer is a total moron and pulls about 80% of his tweets out of his ass. As far as I know, he's the only one speculating that we don't want him. Jordan was rumored to be interested in him before FA opened, and the front office said after the Hayward debacle that there was a substantial "Plan B". I doubt it was Marvin Williams

Lance is such a natural fit, but the fact we haven't heard anything about a visit scares me a bit. Like the Cho-zone team of analytics sees red flags with parts of his game.

On the other hand, we could just wait him out until he has no options left and get him for 10 or 11 millions a year, which would be a steal. But then why not wait and overpay Marvin Williams?

We are forced to make a signing/deal anyway just to get to the floor, so something is going to happen.

If we'd heard anything, I'd be worried.

Burmese whispers is the game that Cho has mastered.

That and ping pong.
