Around the NBA 8.0

Post#861 » by TheKingofSting » Sun Feb 21, 2016 3:37 am

I'm watching the Bucks @ Hawks since NBA League Pass is free this weekend and Dominique Wilkins is terrible. The Hawks were up by only one late in the game and he kept talking about "the Bucks are on the ropes, this is the Hawks game." I was sitting here wondering what game is this guy watching? Thank goodness our announcers aren't that bad.

He just played his first game after missing several (maybe an injury?), so I'm guessing a good way (for us).

He had 9 and 4 in 22 minutes, while his team went for 137. He's averaging 4 and 4 in 16 minutes this year.

It's funny, I recently saw CBS writer Matt Moore praise the Batum trade for Portland because Vonleh "should be pretty good in 3-4 years." But this same guy hated the Frank pick because the lack of upside in taking a 22 year old.

Like, would it not be better to have a contributing 22 year old on a rookie contract rather than waiting and then paying second contract money on the hope that a player could EVENTUALLY contribute by the time he's that age?

Anthony Davis is a beast. And how did Kyrie get the stomach flu in the middle of a game? Who did he eat?

PJ started for the Grizz. PJ, Lance and Biyombo are all on the floor currently. Fantastic.

Edit: PJ just got a tech, lol.

@ShamsCharania
Andy Varejao has reached agreement with the Golden State Warriors, league sources tell The Vertical.

At least Varejao will get a shot at a ring now that he's out of Cleveland.

Deng, looks like the Lick Show is no match for the Bulls.

So this is interesting:

@WojVerticalNBA
As @ShamsCharania reports, Motiejunas deal has fallen apart. Detroit isn't passing him on physical, league sources tell @TheVertical.

This would imply that the entire trade (Motiejunas/Thornton to Detroit and Joel Anthony/1st to Houston) will be voided, as will the subsequent trade that sent Anthony to Philadelphia.

Most interesting piece though is JaKarr Sampson, who was waived by Philadelphia to make room for Anthony. He has since signed a 2-year deal with Denver.

Fun facts from Twitter - Draymond Green is one of 13 qualifying players shooting below 68.9% on free throws.

Steph Curry is shooting 68.9% on shots between 28 and 35 feet from the basket, on 45 attempts.

The demise of the Vancouver Grizzlies

No team in Seattle or Vancouver, that's not right

Surprise this article has no mention of Nash
