Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
I have actually met this girl. Strange.
I met her through my friend who works at ESPN in Charlotte. She worked there with him, but it looks like she has been hired by Bobcats.
Either way she is defiantly hott as hell.

Nope, I would never want to follow in Biz's footsteps.

Watching Biz last night, I realized one thing:
I'd love to see him learn the Skyhook.

That would be completely unstoppable. Even Dwight Howard and Javale McGee wouldn't be able to reject a ball being released from those 17512 foot long arms.

I'll settle for any go to move and counter move at this point.

It will take some time. Really I want to see him rebound, **** scoring for the moment- we need him to rebound.

is this a penis-in-the-shoes joke? because I don't find penises in shoes very funny.

Predict Biyombo's Stats
What are we expecting from Biyombo from a statistical point of view? I'm most interested in blks, stls, and fg%, but I'm curious what the overall expectation is.

I would be very happy with that, but I'm curious about 2 things:
A) could Biyombo approach 9 rpg, or is that beyond realism?
B) what are the biggest limiting factors regarding his playing time? Youth? Foul trouble? More ready guys ahead of him?

6.4ppg, 7.5rpg, 2 Orpg, 1apg, 0.8spg, 2.5bpg, 1.3 TOpg, 48 FG%, 60 FT%, 25mpg, 12.5 PER.
I don't know if I see Biz averaging 9 rpg yet. He's still extremely young and very raw, he's not even 20 yet. Honestly, I think most of us are pleasantly surprised at what we saw from Biz; I personally expected him to spend at least 15 games of last season in the D-League and for him to play 10-15 mpg and average 2 or 3 points a game. I was thrilled for a 5 point, 5 rebound season.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
This is essentially his rookie year, because he had no coaching or practice last season. I think his production arc will be similar to Ibaka's.
Ibaka rookie year: 6.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 54% shooting in 18 minutes a game
Bismack is a better shot blocker than Ibaka at this point in their careers but about the same rebounder. Serge improved drastically as a shot blocker and rebounder from year to year. Bismack needs a lot of work to become a better rebounder, it will take a full 82 game season and next offseason to do it.
I think 2013-14 season is when Bismack will have a big jump in rebounds...but for now he will stay around 7 per 30 minutes of play time.
2013-14 Bismack: 9.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, 1.3 steals, 51% shooting in 34.2 minutes per game.
Prime Bismack (hopefully) 12.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, 1.5 steals, 50% shooting
Ibaka rookie year: 6.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 54% shooting in 18 minutes a game

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
Man I would love to see Biyombo hit those prime numbers, he would be one of the best fantasy bigs in the league.
So am I right to assume that Biyombo should cap out around 7.5 rpg this season?
Who are the guys ahead of him on the depth chart?
And here's a really interesting question: Who puts up better numbers per 36 next year, Biyombo or Anthony Davis?

biyombo will start here almost assuredly, no one is ahead of him at the power forward or center position in our projected depth charts

Mullens and Haywood are both better than him right now. So they are both ahead of him.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
Unless we go into tank mode right off the bat, or Biyombo improves drastically he wont be a starter on opening night. Haywood is better than him right now (unfortunately), and Mullens is a much better PF than he is right now in todays NBA. Biyombo just needs to sit back, relax, get his 20 mpg, and learn. Last season wasn't fair to him.
And contary to popular belief he isnt the next " 6'9 Dwight Howard"

bismack got more minutes than mullens or haywood did last year. He's ahead of both of them.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
Haywood was kinda on a much better team, and hes flat out better than Biyombo right now.
Biyombo can possibly start at PF, but Mullens looks superior as of now. Bismack will be a nice player, but still has a year or two to go.
