Ya think so?

Welcome to 99% of all trades discussed. HOU wants to dump T-rob? Saunders wants to move up? Mavs looking to move the 13th? Demarcus Cousins? All speculation fueled by the summer doldrums, bored beat writers, and discussion board degenerates like us.

Still hope to get T-Rob for peanuts.

I don't think you're quite understanding what I'm saying. The fact that Bosh and Charlotte are even mentioned in the same breath is speculation. What I'm saying is it has no place in the "news" with misleading headlines. There is no way to prove that Charlotte WANTS to trade their pick for Bosh. If articles were more clear on the fact that Charlotte has cap space and Bosh could be traded, I would be ok with the speculation. But this is speculation that shouldn't be news and shouldn't be considered any more serious than "Charlotte's 1st for Jeremy Lamb" talk that flies around on forums.
The Lamb flock's vision has come true.

Acquiring Bosh would make this franchise even more of a joke than it already is.

I get your frustration - there's a lot of content out there that doesn't seem much more than click bait - but I think you have to make peace with the fact that almost all trade talk is driven by speculation in order to have fun with it. I don't think most people on this board think trade negotiations between the Heat and Bobnets are gonna happen anytime soon. I figure if it makes it to SI or ESPN, or it comes courtesy of an established beat writer, it's fair game to discuss. I draw the line at Bleacher Report, most bloggers, and Rick Bonnell. :D

Charlotte out- Portland Pick
Houston out- Thomas Robinson, Greg Smith, and 34th pick.

Idk if Houston would give up the additional pieces with Robinson, but I think the Portland pick alone is overpaying considering they announced they are trying to move him. I would take Terrence Jones, Motiejunas or Royce White instead of Greg Smith... just depends on who they would be willing to part with.

Love. I would be willing to lose the 34th for T-Rob and Smith. T Jones was really showing some signs at the end of the regular season as well. Sign me up for either.

I would in all seriousness think about trading Detroit their pick for the 8th pick this season.

I know the pick only top 8 protected next year, and only top pick protected the year after, but a bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush.

To me we are rebuilding now and the more picks and talent we can put on the roster the sooner the better.

Also, Detroit is in a much better spot right now then they were two years ago. They have a ton of cap space and they will probably sign two good free agents which will make them a fringe playoff team most likely.

If they sign a guy like Mayo or Iggy... or Both they will be a playoff team next year most likely. If not I do not see them being a top 10 pick. And just because the pick is only top 1 protected doesnt guarantee a good pick, they could make the playoffs and we end up with the 16th pick in 2015....

I would easily do this deal.

I'd do that deal as well.

I have no faith in the Pistons becoming a contender under Dumars' management again. I believe those contending years as well as the championship were moreso coaching than anything else, Rick Carlisle & Larry Brown respectively. Keep the pick unless they hire a new GM or George Karl

If the Pistons hire Mo Cheeks and miss badly on their draft pick, they can be seriously bad next year. Either way, Absolutely no way I'd want a 2nd pick in this terrible draft.

I think there is a good chance Len lasts until 8 if we do not take him at 4. I would love to have a combination of Bennett/Oladipo/McLemore at 4 and Len at 8.

That would be well worth it in my mind. Even if Len is gone at 8 I would still take a combination of Bennett and McCollum or Oladipo and Zeller/Adams.

Rather than just sit around and pray for the best that Pistons do not turn into a playoff team.

While I was at it I would trade Houston the Portland pick for T-Rob and filler.

Kemba
Oladipo- Hendo
MKG
T-Rob
Len-Biz

with our pick in 2014 and a ton of cap space still... That is a playoff team with plenty of talent to blossum and a ton of capspace... Imagine throwing a Wiggins/Randle/Parker talent to that team.... WOW!!!!!

or we can just sit here and wait for those Portland and Detroit picks to turn into middle of the first round quality picks.... and sit here and watch a less talented team for the next two years...

Or, equally as possible, our draft picks fail to meet expectations (Bobcat's track record: very likely), Thomas Robinson shows why two teams have given up on him already (likely), and we are a mediocre team and watch our high draft pick go to Chicago in 2015 or 2016 while we have our thumbs up our asses with no way to improve.

We can't be scared to fail.

If we can not find a long term starter with two picks in the top 8 then we should just throw in the towel now.

I am saying its better option than just hoping we suck and get Wiggins then Detroit and Portand picks end up being fringe lottery picks.

I really do not think this draft class is any weaker than last years at this point.

Well, I wildly disagree with you on that last point. It's not so much that I think we'll fail, it's more like I think we'll fail just enough to not field a team capable of going deep into the playoffs and b/c of that potentially lose our franchise player when the lottery gods finally give us our #1 pick and it happens to go to Chicago in 2016.

There's a reason why Cho wheeled and dealed for extra picks and a lot to do with it was insurance for the pick we owed. I don't think T-Rob and #8 in a weak draft is worth losing those picks. My 2 cents.

There's a trade idea on the trade board that has us moving down four spots, swapping picks with the Pistons to remove the protection on their future pick. If Detroit messes something up and end up worse than they were this season, that could pay dividends for us? Do you guys do that?
