PJ literally shot off the top of my head like 30 percent for the series. He was awful. We won that trade easily.

Re: Around the NBA 12
PJ taking shots against us is just unprofessional. Like I get it, he likes that he isn't here anymore. Don't need to keep rubbing it in though. One of the reasons we sucked was because he was meant to be one of our top players but he didn't deliver enough.
That said, I still want the Mavs to win the Finals because Boston fans are super arrogant.

I don't blame him for being excited to be honest. He went from a half empty building and losing to ridiculous crowds and going to the NBA finals.
That being said he played average defense and was atrocious against the wolves. Frank Kaminsky could have done what he done playing with Kyrie and Luka. Gafford was a real game changer.

Re: Around the NBA 12
PJ was traded into a dream situation for him where he could make 4 FGs, grab a few boards, play solid defense, then get carried offensively by two all time great scorers.
I'm sure he's way happier in Dallas playing for a great team, pretty much anyone would be. I don't take it personally.

It would be such a shame if Tyler Herro did an ACL next year.

Re: Around the NBA 12
As inconsistent as PJ was here, Hornets matched inconsistency in role, minutes, lineup configurations, etc. etc.
His coaches said Miles is more suited for the 4. PJ came into the league blocked at his natural position and had to learn center. Gafford & Lively have clearly defined roles there as well.
Borrego was experimental. Clifford was predictable and rigid. The coaching staff was budget. The trainers sucked. The medical staff speaks for itself.
Oh, but let's root against PJ being happy.
Terry being a feature player here and darling of the coaches turned around and said we have loser DNA and everyone was like, yeah, Terry is right.

Re: Around the NBA 12
It's always been strange to me how we wrap certain players in bubble wrap and spout about how we can't fathom winning without them, yet with others we volunteer to drive them to the airport only to turn around and lament their happiness to escape a situation that wasn't the best for them, including fan support.
The take home message here is that PJ can keep his cool and hit huge shots in high pressure situations. Terry crapped his pants in our play-in games. And he's been to the conference finals.

Everyone takes shots at us.
If we start winning the opinions will change. Hopefully new ownership brings a new mentality and new environment. The jokes will go away once we become relevant in the playoff discussion.

Truth @ JustBuzzin. Winning is the only remedy. Fans can either show support or attack Hornets on social media thinking its some beneficial contribution to that effort.

Re: Around the NBA 12
Happy for PJ, I'm in the camp that the Hornets are awful so let the shots on us accumulate until we prove we can fix it. TWolves and Sacramento were in the same spot as us a few seasons ago and the jokes stopped.
That said, if you swap Grant Williams in place of PJ and they still make the finals. PJ hit some clutch shots, but otherwise had a very Hornets-PJ playoffs. Good for 12/7 on poor percentages and average defense. We basically got a lightly unprotected first round pick to take on a longer contract for the same functional player

Re: Around the NBA 12
PJ really proved his doubters here wrong by stepping up all series with 12/6/1 on 37.7/25.0/100 splits in 39mpg.
I for one lament the fact that we traded him and cannot possibly fathom how we'd ever replace that

Lol y'all hating on PJ is Wild!
The man has played his role on a contender. Charlotte was a bad situation we all can admit that. We have a chance to change our culture with new ownership and a new HC. Trust the process.

I'm not hating on PJ I just don't get why he had to bring us into it. Yes he made the finals and fair play to him but why did he have go bad mouthing us. I just don't get it and I wonder what Lamelo and Miles his so called close teammates think of it

PJ didn't bring the team into it at all, he was responding to a prompt from Tyler Herro (his former teammate at Kentucky).
Honestly, all of us really need to start taking context into account for anything we dare to judge people about. We can't come to a reasonable conclusion without context, so don't form conclusions without them.

Re: Around the NBA 12
The PJ thing is an interesting thought process on team building and echoes what I ranted on a month ago...
If you have a top 5 player the way you can build your team is wildly different then if you are team that is balanced with several top 30-40 guys....
Dallas can afford to put these super-role players around Luka and Kyrie because they can drop 70 per night together... so PJ shooting 35% and have 9 pts can be perfectly fine for a series as long as he hits the timely ones, which he has. Same with Gafford and Lively, they are really good at standing in the dunker spot and waiting for Luka to feed them dunks.
If the Hornets played vs Dallas with LaMelo and Miller as their 2 vs Luka and Kyrie with the same exact supporting cast we are getting smoked. We need our 3rd-6th players to do more then Dallas. So yeah PJ for us needed to be a 15 ppg guy consistently, but he wasn't. On Dallas he is perfect to be a guy that explodes for 20 some nights and 7 others...
Which again is why I saw surrounding LaMelo and Miller with 3 good role players is not a recipe for success. Unless they are both going to take massive steps up into top 10-15 guys. Otherwise when we play teams built like this we will lose to the team with a guaranteed top 5 guy like Luka, SGA, Joker etc....
