watched me some noel tonight
-so similar to biz. if cho was concerned about pairing biz and drummond, i assume he would have same reservations about biz and noel.
-really seems to have good positioning and instincts on defense. unlike biz, he doesnt show too hard on defense to the point that he loses track of his own man. he has the ability to cover the ball handler and still stay connected to his man
-like biz, goes for blocks to the detriment of giving up off rebounds. ideally paired with a space eating rebounder, not another shot blocker
-free throw mechanics look worse than biz
-he'll have to develop a mid range jumper ala camby to really become an elite big man
-obviously better hands than biz
-biz has better NBA body
-easy top 5 pick, but thats stating the obvious

Watching Indiana and Michigan tonight, been a great game. The Oladipo-Hardaway, Jr match up has been killer.

You know, if we drafted Zeller, I'd be all like:

Zeller will be average in the NBA with his wing span.

Cody Zeller isn't doing anything I haven't seen Tyler Hansbrough do better lacking 3 extra inches of height.

Anthony Bennett vs Boise State - 25 points (9 for 16 shooting), 6 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals, 1 block

That's kind of an absolute statement.

I'm down with that.

Dude, no man, just no. Zeller actually has post moves and can pass the ball out. Hansbrough just hurdles his body at people and throws junk at the rim hoping for a whistle.

If you want to see the "Best of Zeller - 2013" try and find the game against Wisconsin. Zeller looked like McHale in that game.

Jay Bilas ‏@JayBilas

Cody Zeller outstanding on both ends against UM. Victor Oladipo, in 45 possessions guarding 4 different players, gave up only 4 points.

Really? Seems like Oladipo gave up at least 4 to Hardaway alone. That was a great battle.

I still don't know about this Olynyk guy. Sometimes he looks like a poor man's Nowitzki and other times he looks like a Harangody/Scalabrine type. It would help if Gonzaga didn't look like a high school team.

a lot of average players would be really, really good with 3 more inches of height. but zeller has t rex arms and probably isn't coming out this draft

I'd be surprised if he didn't come out this year. This year he's a top 5 pick easily. Next year, more than likely not.

I know this isn't about the draft, but why would you want a jump shooting Pf?

I know the value of Josh, but he doesn't seem to fit our build. We would still have no inside game.

I agree, its just smart business to take the guaranteed contract.

Its called the "Desagana Diop" rule.

Do keep in mind that if Zeller would have come out he would have been a top five pick last year as well. We most likely would have took him at two if he had came out. He will still likely be a top five pick next year. It is almost certain that at least one of the superstar highschoolers is going to struggle next season.

I am also starting to not worry much about Zeller's wing span. Why? Because he has handles and a jumper. He is not a robotic big like Okafor who is just going to stand in one spot, and get his shot blocked half the time. Zeller is going to be beating people off the dribble, and hitting open jumpers.

Josh has an inside game. He is just a little to three point happy. I would love to have Josh here for a reasonable contract. However I have already read that he wants a big contract.

Len has the talent to be the No. 1 pick in the draft. His biggest challenge right now is a collection of guards who aren't helpful in getting him the ball. In the past four games since our last update, Len had just eight field goal attempts against North Carolina State, just seven against North Carolina and six against Duke. It's hard to put up big numbers if you don't get the ball. Len's ridiculous reverse baseline dunk against Mason Plumlee and Duke showed off the incredible potential he has.

Last year Andre Drummond got a bum rap because he played on a UConn team with selfish triggerhappy guards. I feel like Alex Len is getting a little overlooked right now. How often does a 7'1 255# C with a low post game, still only 19, reasonably athletic, decent shotblocker and rebounder come along? He put up 23/12 when he went against Noel, that's because he's got 50 lbs on him. In the NBA that matters.

I've sen Len a little, not really excited about him so far. Can't doubt his physical stature but...I don't know how dynamic he'll be in the nba.

The more I have seen of Len the more he has reminded me of Mully. I just can't get excited about him.

I'm afraid that Alex Len might be one of those bigs that you can't play over 25 minutes a night because he's such a liability in transition defense. That's the one area that make me wary of him.

Len struggles to score against guys smaller than him, like Leslie and McAdoo smaller. That's a serious red flag for me.
