@rick_bonnell: Bobcats plan to work out Seth Curry in coming weeks. Leg injury kept him from playing for Bobcats' summer-league team.

I had an interview with Brandon Payne (BP) & Blake Boehringer (BB) from Accelerate Basketball today for my website about what players go through during their off season. They were also willing to discuss a little bit about certain players who they have in, one of them was Curry:

Me: "Another Name I would like to ask you about is Seth Curry, obviously he went undrafted, can you give us any updates about how he has looked?

BP: Seth is another one who has been in very very regularly, he has even been going through some two a days. He has been shooting the ball of course very very well, you know he has really been working on his ball handling, and I think he is an underrated ball handler from my personal point of view, I think he handles the ball extremely well, well enough to be a lead at the NBA level. He had a setback with his surgery, you know after the college season was over so it has been a little bit of a balancing act between his rehab and his workouts and trying to get better while making sure we aren't pushing him too hard. I feel like, anyone who shoots the ball like he does there's probably a place for him in the NBA and I think its just a matter of making the right roster make up for him to go in and make a team. I think that all you have to do is look at his dad and brother and you know what the Curry's can do, they can shoot the basketball and I think that there's a place for him in the league.

Me: I have seen some stories linking him to Charlotte, I hope he gets an invite to training camp.

BP: To be honest James you know about as much as I do, like I said before we don't really get into that, we have talked about it in passing but we haven't sat down with him. All we know is the dates are coming up for him to workout for people so we are just doing are best to get him ready for that.

~END~

I know there isn't any breaking news here, but its interesting to see what he said about Curry's ball handling. Earlier in the interview they had mentioned players actually travel from all over the USA and Europe to come to Accelerate Basketball for their ball handling drills as many players really seem to hold them in high regard in that category. So if one of the top ball handling trainers in the country think Seth's ball handling is underrated then I am inclined to believe him.

In the interview we also discussed Sean May, Jamison, Morrow and Henderson, the full interview transcript will be all edited and posted on my website soon, but I will also post relevant parts of it on this forum as well to keep you guys in the loop.

Cheers Plowright.

Much appreciated.

If it comes down to Seth Curry or Troy Daniels then surely we have to take Seth?

I would much rather have Curry than Troy Daniels on this team. He seems like a better shooter and I have more faith in his BBIQ

I'm down with Curry. Actually, not really sweating who else we add. I'm so happy with the core.

That being said, I'm always hoping we take a chance on a few guys with upside instead of more vets.

I am still a major advocate of Brandon Triche. At 6'4 and 22 I think he has the power game that suits this roster well as a PG3/combo guard. Guy had a solid handle, much better than expected defender, gives us size and strength at that position, and kind of reminds me of a young Ramon.

Also a big fan (from watching a lot of D League last yr and this year's summer league) of former Gonzaga SF Micah Downs (Mike Miller/Chandler Parsons type wing) and DJ Kennedy (6'6 PG converted from SG) who ran the Heat SL offense.

I want Curry here so bad. I just have a feeling he will pan out. He's a Curry.

Only drawback to this is I'm not sure Dell Curry will be able to hold in his excitement watching his son play every night.

Other than that, we really have nothing to lose.

I wonder if we are one of the teams interested in Toure Murry, I was impressed from what I seen of him on the Knicks summer league squad. He is 6-5 and a really strong defender. Seems like he could be a nice third point, who could even play the 2, if we were in a pinch.

The Bulls are reportedly in the running for Anthony Tolliver, destroyer of Derrick Rose's ankle and a not-so-good basketball player. http://www.blogabull.com/2013/8/7/45992 ... per-report

If CHA wanted a crappy stretch 4 why didn't we just resign Mully? I hope this Tolliver bloke chooses CHI.

Wait, if Tolliver signs does that mean no Patrick Ewing Jr.?

Tolliver sucks but he is a easy guy to root for because he plays solid defense and hustles his tail off. He's like a poor man's Junkyard Dog.

Agree. Plus he has a winning sense of humour. For an end of the bench guy we could do far worse.

I'm just amazed that we are signing actual NBA caliber players for the end of our bench.

Lol, you guys didn't like the all-time leading scorer from a prestigious program like Colorado? But no, seriously he was god awful, and we were forced to play him. It was like taking an ugly girl to prom out of guilt
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Yeah, but, what is the CHA obsession with undersized players? Tolliver 6'8 fighting it out at PF with 6'7 Rocky. Mucho Pargo 6'1. There are guys with size available that's all I'm saying.
