GT: Charlotte @ New Orleans 8:00 PM Wed, Apr 7

Post#1 » by amcoolio » Wed Apr 7, 2010 3:51 am

Charlotte CAN clinch a playoff birth tomorrow with a win and a Toronto loss vs. Boston, regardless of what Chicago does.

How?

With a win, the worst Charlotte could do is 42-40.

With a loss, the best Toronto can do is 42-40, meaning they would have to win out.

The best Chicago can do is 42-40, meaning they would have to win out.

However, Chicago plays Toronto in a couple games, meaning its impossible for both of them to win out.

So, we are rooting harder for Boston more than ever tomorrow!

Go Bobcats and Celtics!

I would kinda rather face Orlando. Boston destroyed us in the regular season vs Orlando we might sneak by.

We can't face Boston by any chance, unless they really pull it out and clinch 3rd seed. We go on heroics and win all our games and catch Miami somehow and Milwaukee.

Anyway, I was going to use my mojo for this one, but hope amcoolio got it as well.
Just some tap-ins.

Keys to game:
1) Wallace needs to work as well as last game. Just drive to the rim against his old teammate Okafor. West isn't very great inside presence on defensive side.
2) Guards defense. They got multiple guards, who can penetrate, find open men after pick-n-roll and also can shoot three. Don't get me wrong, but I might be just okay to use Graham/Hughes to defend SG (Thornton, Collison), as they are undersized and Jackson doesn't have speed to stop them.
3) Box out Okafor and West. Chandler can do well against both.
4) Close the passing lines for guards and leave Okafor wide open, he isnt very good on offensive end and I would love seeing him go 2-11 :D

All I can say, 6th seed baby, here we come.

Five games to go and we are in Heaven !

Let's win them all (way possible considering the teams we'll face : New Orleans, Houston, Detroit, New Jersey and Chicago) starting with this one !!!!

. Ray and Dj are gonna have their hands full in this one with Paul & Collison...... Hang in there, don't allow the penetration, keep them honest by being efficient on O. Keep the good work with the low turnovers.

. Jax..... watchout ! The young fellow Thornton can lit it up, don't let him catch on fire, put the kid to bed early ! Take what they give you on offense. Don't over do it, let Boris initiate the offense on most occasions and in case nothing happens in the 15 first sec of the possession, be our playmaker/finisher/Superstar all you want. In other words : Unleash the beast only when needed !

. Crash.... Cutting, rebounding, chasing f--k it : Just be yourself man ! Don't let Stojakovic make you fall in sleep and then wake you up with a cold shower of 3pointers.

. Boris... school the West ! Big job needed on D (another day at work right ?), keep on mixing it on O like you've been doin' lately, initiate & facilitate the offense (should be the case for at least 65% of the possessions). Make me proud and give me more arguments to fight the scepticism that I've been seeing on these boards ! ;-) Just Be 3D goddammit !

. TC... Stay healthy ! Build on what you've been doing lately, you look better every game, block out and rebound (you know the deal) be ready for the passes and dunk it.... and make Emeka cry

Theo.... Keep impressing me like you did when I saw you at that practice back in the days in Philly, you Swat Master!
Tyrus... rest your body, we will need you at your best in the Playoffs.
The rest of the bench......... be solid !

No Theo tonight, he'll be at his grandmother's funeral. Maybe the return of Nazr tonight?

I wonder if Gana gets some burn too.

If we do end up playing the Magic in round #1 then Gana will need a chance to blow some rust off before facing Howard just like Nazzy.

This is one I dont necessarily expect to win, but would absolutely love to be surprised by a win. If we lose, I'd rather it be a blow out and let the starters get rest in the 4th. I hate those games where we are right there in the last 4 minutes and then blow it. Starters get overused and the life gets sucked out of you with a loss. It is a back to back game situation, and we usually struggle in those situations. Will have to see if the Cats can dig deep tonight and gut it out.

Do you actually think Gana will be a factor in the playoffs? I think we'll just stick with Theo, Nazr, and Tyson.

If we are going up against the Magic in round #1 then I 100% think that Gana will be a factor.

If nothing else he would be 6 extra fouls to commit on Howard.

If we end up against Orl it will likely be a tough series with very little chance of upsetting the Magic. We have to get to that 6th seed by any means

CP3 out tonight, and for the rest of the season. While that's certainly a good thing, Collison dusted us in the Cable Box, so there's no reason to think he won't do it in traitor town as well.

My guess is Peja will continue to be out as well.

So I guess this will finally be the battle of the titans that we have been waiting for all season.

Going to be really interesting seeing TC and Okafor go at it.

Tricky Ricky saying that T2 is likely out for tonight with that dislocated thumb...............and might actually be out for "a while".

Hope he gets well soon. We really need him.

Good ref crew on tonight. None of the big name knobs.

That should at least bode well for a well run game.

TC beat Okafor in the opening tip.

That settles it once and for all.

TC is better than Okafor.

We can put that to bed now.
