Atlanta’s Josh Smith finished second with 136 points and Charlotte’s Gerald wallace finished third with 113 points. Players were awarded five points for each first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for each third-place vote received.

What is the rationale for being behind Smith? Wallace posts more rebounds, Smith posts more blocks, and they are basically equal when it comes to steals. Wallace is the best defender on the best (depending which measure you use) defensive team in the league.

I bet it's because what Smith does is more flashy then Wallace, those high flying blocks he always seem to get is what most people remember. I have no problem putting Wallace #2 behind Dwight though.
