Possible ways we can get CP3 in a bobcats uniform next year?

Post#1 » by Stun704 » Sat Apr 24, 2010 11:53 pm

CP3 was in the cable box for todays game so I think his heart is here in NC and he would be happy to play for the bobcats, with the emergence of Collison I think they would look to deal him, What are some trade we can pull off to get CP3 and retain Crash?
IMO
Nazr Mohammed
Boris Diaw
Sign & Trade Raymond Felton
Unconditional First round pick

for

CP3
James Posey or Peja ethier one of those pad contracts, perfably Posey
in the one in a million chance this is pulled off our squad would look like

CP3/DJ
Jax/Henderson
Crash/Posey
TT/UPS
Tyson/Lexy/Diop

I don't care what anybody says about Stephen Jackson...he's one of my fav players in the @NBA...

Your trade proposal looks solid upon first glance but who really knows how feasible it is... He'd definitely be a great fit.

If there's a way to land CP3, I don't care who we have to give up... you do it.

Most people would say this is never going to be possible, but we all know the Hornets. There's still time while Shinn owns them. They eventually get rid of their stars for whatever reasons. I have to think they'd like to get DJ out of it somehow being he's a local product. I think the key is to send them expirings, a future pick, and someone like Boris to be their SF next to West. Guarantee you they'll want Wallace though, and I would certainly do it.

There is away, CP3 can silently demand a trade and they would have to grant it

i agree that paul could get traded from the hornets. i just dont believe we can get him.

if you were the hornets and you decided to move chris paul. mvp contender, paul. 1st team all-nba paul. best pg in the league, paul. young superstar paul. would you accept felton, mid 1st round pics and expiring contracts for him? HELL NO!!! you would ask for another superstar in return. its not like paul is going to pull an iverson or vince carter and sit out and demand a trade. he is too classy. he will not lower his trade value by being a d-bag. therefor the hornets will be able to land a great package in return. i dont see any scenario that would allow the bobcat to outbid all 29 other teams for paul's services.

Tyson Chandler
Nazr Mohammed
Sign and Trade Raymond felton to match Posey or Peja's contract for 1 year to get theirs off the books
Unconditional first round pick

and in return we get

CP3
Posey or Peja

That clears over 25 million in cap space for them and plus get a first round pick that they can use to build around Collison

Personally I would do that, I get a lot of cap space to build around a core of Collison Thorton and West and can add some solid players in the '11 free agent class, Also they are about the sell the team so they should be trying to shed as much salary as possible by 2011

Also CP3 would have a hand in deciding in where he would go (atleast I would think) and if he was able to pick any team to go to IMO it would be the Bobcats

There is no chance in hell we can get him here. About 20 teams can offer a much better package than we can, and I'd still doubt if Shinn would pull the trigger for a package that does not include any superstars.

And yes, if we want CP3, we would have to include something like DJ, Wallace, Tyrus, Nazr, Picks and that's way too much IMO, because it would leave us with an D-league roster.

so what your saying is there is no way to package a deal to get cp3 and still have a team left that contend....bam game over...lets lock this baby down

Anyone whose followed the NBA in the recent years knows this type of deal could be done. Look at what the Lakers gave up for Gasol. Basically nothing except cap space.

We have valuable assets to trade. NO has no cap flexibility right now and has two quality young PG's, one being a fraction of the price of Paul. If I'm them and I can turn one of those assets into a quality wing man, draft picks, or cap space to sign who I want then I would have to consider it.

Deron Williams is the best PG in the league. But since we can't get him, it wouldn't hurt to target Paul. I think the expirings + picks would be a good first start, and I also think with them having Collison in the wings, CP3's value might be a little lower.

Unfortunately we do not have the ammunition to get Paul. In addition to helping them unload a big salary, we would have to give them SERIOUS young talent in return, then throw in a couple of draft picks. We're talking CHRIS PAUL here, not Baron "chucker" Davis.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
