As Larry has said its all about protecting the ball. We played some great defense during the entire series, but had too many free throw misses and TURNOVERS on the offensive end.
I thought "Hack a Howard" worked in some games, but we really don't know how to guard the 3.
After 6 years we have now made it to the first playoff level at the expense of the next two years 1st and second draft picks. 44-38 season is great ,but now the Charlotte fans want more. Larry Brown will now show us just how good hall of fame coach he is by having a 50 win team in 2010-2011. Hard decisions will need to be made in off season. Heres some things to think about:
1 Tyrus Thomas has earned the right to be resigned and start at the 4 position.
2. Raymond Felton is a good NBA point guard .. Offer him a Good /not great contract.Otherwise BYE
3. Diaw has no trade value, but keep him as our 6th man rotating him for 30 mpg at the 3,4, 5, point .
4. Diop should be packaged with Jackson and traded for 2-3 solid veteran expiring role player contracts and 2010 or2011 1st round draft pick.
5. Keep Theo/ Nazr(/Ajinca?) as our backup centers
6. If Felton walks in free agency trade Chandler for a veteran starting point guard.
7. Keep Wallace and back him up with Derrick Brown
8.Keep and resign Hughs at the 2 (Backup 3rd point)and back him up with Henderson
9. Let Graham walk, replace with another veteran scorer/ trade him for 2nd round 2010 pick
10. Keep DJ as backup point guard
7.
