hypothetical roster scenario

i think wallace and jax have the ability to be major contributors on a great team, but ideally they would be the 2nd and 3rd options on the team. i think they are both talented enough to fill those roles on a really good team. i also believe we have enough role players to surround wallace, jax and one superstar to make a great team.

pencil jax as the starting sg and wallace as the starting sf and then add one superstar to play either pg sg or c, for the next two years. fill the rest of the positions with the guys we have now (including felton and tyrus).

which superstar pg, pg or c from the group below would you choose and why?

chris paul
deron williams
chris bosh
dirk nowitzki
amare stoudemire
dwight howard

Howard. He's the youngest, either the best or second-best on that list, and the safest bet, because of his youth and injury free history. Plus, I'm far more satisfied with our point guard rotation than center rotation, and we need low post scoring.

in the scenario i listed i said for the next two years... would that change your vote? just curious. all of the players listed should have two superstar level years left, with dirk as the only slight concern in that area.

It would either be Howard or Paul, which it was for me anyway. Might go Paul in that case, because I think he's at least Howard's equal and that he could elevate TC's play, but it would be tough to pass up the big man.

Cp3, as seen from our series Howard can easily be taken out of the game, however CP3 cannot

Deron. He's a bigger, sturdier CP3 and has more ability to take over for himself offensively. CP3 would be my choice if we had a couple more outside shooters.

Deron
Jack
Crash
Tyrus
TyNaZombie

Definitely Deron and it's not even close. He can be a distributor or a go-to-guy. And this team needs both badly.

Deron simply is not as good as CP3 at scoring, and that is what a complement to a SJax/Crash core really needs. We'd hopefully finally get to see Crash in an uptempto offense, and win based on badass guard play and tough interior players.

Howard would be my #1 choice however. I think he is the 2nd, maybe 3rd best player in the league, and would be able to provide enough scoring that we'd have a real opportunity for open perimeter players.

It would be Deron for me, even though I think we need a PF/C more than we need a PG. But of the players listed, I still think you can't pass up on Deron.

Howard Paul or Williams and you can't go wrong.

Alright, so I'm probably going to insult some intelligence on this first point, but look at the last 11 NBA Champions and they all have amazing frontcourts. They've either got a superstar like Duncan or Shaq or they just have an amazing rotation like Detroit or the Lakers. Our frontcourt doesn't even come close to measuring up to worst of them and we'll likely never win anything with that rotation unless the rest of the lineup is just absolutely stacked (nothing short of say... Lebron and Deron for example).

In addition, we're not going anywhere with this offense, which is why I've got to cross out Dwight. I mean, if we were able to keep him for more than two years, alter our current lineup, and build around him, he would likely be my choice, otherwise I just don't think he's as good offensively as some of the other guys listed and I really don't think we need his defense quite as much.

So for me, it's a toss up between the first three. The point guards are very tempting, but I keep going back to the frontcourt, which is why I would have to go with Bosh on this one.

good post. 100% agree. We need a good post game to move forward. Amare would also be a good fit but i think he would struggle more than bosh with the team set the way it is now

I'd toss a coin between CP3 and D.Will.

Howard has zero chance to mature in two years so no matter who good he is I would pass. There is enough frusttration in our offesne at times, no nedd to add some a prime example of dumba*s.

Amar'e is overrated and is not sure bet enough.

The other four I would be happy to have them. Deron maybe better, LB would love his height but CP3 would be a PR blessing, better income i.e. better cahnce to go into luxury tax area, he is NC bound and last but not least he would probably make Chandler much better once again.

Nowitzki is phenomenal, better talent than Bosh, on the other hand it would be intriguing to see Bosh paired with our C big bodies or shofted at semi-C with Tyrus, he may be more fitting. On the other hand the only time when Gana played somewhat up to his contract was next to Dirk, if he become at least semi-tradable it would be a big plus.

I have to take CP3. I don't think any of these players + Jack/Crash and our role players is a championship contender, but they'd all be great teams. I'd enjoy watching Paul as a Bobcat the most, so that's the pick.

While we are talking in hypothetical's.............

If Bosh wanted to sign here (again, hypothetical's) and we worked out a S&T of:

Jax and T2 (signed)
for
Bosh

Would everyone we down?

Raps get the defensive 2 guard they crave, a better pairing at the 4 next to Bargs and we get a franchise player.

Felts - Hughes - Crash - CB4 - TC
DJ - Hendo - UPS - Boris - Nazzy

So because of that trade off you would pass on adding CB4 Fred?

A resounding yes. 20/10 players aren't common. We can work out the 2 guard situation later
