I was reading my ESPN MAgazine tonight. They have a section called NBA Player X. An un named player gives them insight on things behind the scenes. This question involved who were the really "smelly" players. Of course, the Cats have one, and had another. Here is what was said:

"..I've heard Leandro Barbosa and Boris Diaw have a particular aversion to showering. Same with Shavlik Randolph. The smelliest stories in the league involve Adam Morrison when he was in Charlotte. I heard he kept a pile of dirty clothes in his car. He'd put them on right out of practice, then head straight for the team plane."

Now, I dont believe in making fun of people if they heave a health issue they cannot help. But failing to shower and wearing dirty clothes? That is just plain nasty! But what struck me was that all this time people said the Bobcats stunk, I had no idea they meant "literally" stunk! I thought they were referring to the way they played. Good news, we must be OK playing the game!

I used to play footy (Aussie Rules) with a guy who didn't shower the day before/morning of a game and would wear unwashed socks and shorts. He'd wear a skin tight wife beater type top under his training gear and never wash it. Then on game day he'd wear the wife beater thing under his uniform. He'd work up quite the sweat before the game in warm ups too.

His theory was the more you smelt, the more the opposition wanted to stay away from you (or in basketball - the less they would want to guard you close) and the more freedom and room you would have to do your thing.

It actually worked.

But he smelt like arse on game day and his nick name was Pong.
