Summer School: Tyson Chandler

We can create a thread for each player to discuss the things you would like to see the player work on over the summer and bring to the team next season. This isn't about their contract status or a bashing thread or love fest thread or a trade thread or a player comparison thread. Just a thread of improvement ideas.

Tyson: I know that Theo sort of became our default starting C, but I am sliding TC in here for obvious reasons.

I guess the one thing I would like to see TC work on his working on his 1st reaction on offense. There were many times where I felt he caught the ball in good position deep in the paint facing the rim and rather than going up quick and strong, he would hesitate, give the D a chance to collapse and end up sort of flailing about. He'd get to the line, which is good (as is his much improved FT shooting), but I would rather see him go straight up with authority.

Tape of guys to study: Amare and Nene (me catch ball. Me dunk ball. Me dunk ball quick. Me dunk hard).

What would you guys say?

I'll try to find my Shaq Fu cassette and dub a copy of "Shoot Pass Slam" that Pussyfoot can listen to on heavy rotation.

Do you want me to shoot it? NO
Do you want me to pass it? NO
Do you want me to slam it? YEA

I don't want to ever see him take a 15 footer again. Ever. Whoever is encouraging him to do that needs to stop.

The only shots he use to make when he was with the Hornets were ally hoops off pick and rolls, so they should find a way to put him in position and just throw the ball above the rim :o
