http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/ ... h_bobcats/Darius Miles, a former third overall pick, is attempting a comeback to the NBA as a member of Charlotte's free-agent camp.
Miles once suffered what was called a "career-ending" knee injury and has dealt with off-court issues as well.
"For a guy like him to come in this kind of setting speaks well for him," Bobcats coach Larry Brown said. "It shows you how much he wants to play."
Miles, who has been out of the league for more than a year, is working on his jump shot and still possess the quickness that made him a top prospect.

We've talked about this a bit in the 2010 NBA draft thread, but I think it's a good idea for Darius to have his own discussion thread since he isn't a draft prospect. Assuming he's in shape, I think he'd be an okay bench player for us. I must admit, I didn't watch him very much in Memphis, but I was a fan when he was on the young n thuggin Clips.

I dont think theres anything wrong with bringing him in....He's only 28 so he has alot of good years left in him if he's healthy. Give him a shot!

I don't want to see this clown back in the league.
Neither does David Stern.

I wouldn't be surprised. It's mostly Portland fans that spew stuff like that towards Z-Bo and Darius.
I hope things work our for him and your team. He's obviously not that exciting to watch anymore, but I still got a little spot for him since he's a former Clipper who was fun to watch. Just gotta hope he's been putting extra effort into developing a jump shot.

He's not, or at least its certainly not very likely... His knees were done. Like, super-done. Even if he is able to come back, I doubt he'd even be able to survive moderate minutes (15 mpg). Why not give the minutes to Brown?
Also, Portland fans have plenty of reasons to hate Miles, Sheed, and Zach.

We have to bring him in, otherwise we'd be forced to play some of the promising young players we already have....
Can't have that...

another one of LBs aging man-crushes, hopefully not at the expense of ups or lexy.
my fav part of the miles article on charlotteobserver.com is where he says he never had to work on his jumpshot cause he could always beat people to the rim. yup, thats all you need to know about darius. too stupid or too lazy to work on a jumpshot while getting paid ridiculous amounts of money to be a star.

So pretty much only thing he is missing is Sean May type of diet?

I've seen an image of Miles somewhere before where he's HUGE after his microfracture (did he have two of these surgeries?)... but he looked to be in pretty good shape when he was back, so I guess he worked it off.

LOL....................this has LB written all over it.Because we can't have Brown or Hendo developing so we'll get a BUM with no jumpshot-oh that's right LB doesn't like those-so we're all good then....in LB's mad world yeah.
This is NEWS........PLEASE.Somebody tell me what's going on with the Sean Maydar.

I wouldn't mind seeing Darius in a uniform again.
(As long as it isn't near my team

)

I always love the complaints about how these veterans take time away from the rookies. If the rookies were truly ready to play, the veterans wouldn't get the playing time.
That's why Stephen Graham, Flip Murray, and Larry Hughes were brought in; Brown nor Henderson earned the right to play substantial minutes last season.
If Darius Miles makes this team and takes minutes away from Brown and/or Henderson, so be it. I want to see guys that give the team the best chance to win play, regardless of their age.

He's a pretty decent jumper and could put up some buckets off the bench. Although he's a bit injury prone.

Half of our players are injury prone, he might as well join the club.
