Essentially, New Orleans and Charlotte just swap out their own garbage for someone else's. New Orleans saves a little bit of money..not the focus of the deal here, but it is what it is. I think both these guys need a change of scenery before they can have any chance of improving.

Why for Nawlins? They are in dire need of a legit 7 footer and Ajinca is 7'1. If nothing else, he provides another six fouls. He's also has a long wing-span and can block some shots. His post moves are decent too, but he's still raw and with the new coaching staff and playbook coming to Nawlins..why not take a chance on need that comes this inexpensive?

Why for Charlotte? Larry Brown. This guy is a no nonsense type of guy. And Julian Wright has been known to be all about nonsense. That said, Julian needs LB. If anyone can turn this guy around..its LB. I still believe JuJu (Wright) can be a good player in this league..he just needs to be in the "perfect' situation and I think that's Charlotte. With veteran guys already there that are all about winning and no nonsense..Wright would receive excellent tutelage. This is a low-risk, high-reward move for Charlotte.

I don't see why either team would turn this deal down. Well..Charlotte has depth at the wing already with Crash (Wallace), S-Jax, Derrick Brown and Gerald Henderson . OK..well that's two gamers, one guy with some promise and another unproven..so JuJu could push for the 3rd wing spot on that team. And as far as Nawlins goes..let's see they have Okafor as the only center under contract with Aaron Gray looking like the only feasible option to add to the roster. I don't see any reason why Ajinca couldn't get PT in Nawlins in its current roster position.

Would have done it for Mo Pete if you guys still had him but a definite 'no' to Wright. He doesn't feel a need and I'm not convinced that we'll have a lower pick than NO next season.

Seriously, though, I totally forgot that Wright was a first rounder and thought you meant swapping the picks along with the players. A few years ago; would have totally done that switch. Now, not so much.
