Charlotte has traded Tyson Chandler and Alex Ajinca to Dallas for Dampier, Matt Carroll and Najera, a league source tells Y! Sports.

this deal makes no sense unless we are going to waive damp and his unguaranteed contract.

Great deal if it is true! Dampier has a non-guarenteed contract that we coudl take advantage of and is a HUGE trade chip. He is also not a TERRIBLE C...he could fit in nicely. CArroll's contract is decreasing and i wouldn't mind having him back since we would be trading Alexi's contract. And Najera could be our back-up PF and i believe he is expiring.

I can't believe MJ chose this over the Calderon deal... What an idiot...

the damp contact cant be worth that much more than chandlers...

if we move him this summer we dont have a center. if we cut him outright, who left at center is worth signing? if we hang on to him, i'd rather have chandler.

Dampier's contract isn't worth much more than Chandler's...it's like a lateral move while adding two contracts we don't need?

Najera is an expiring contract in the 2011-2012 season.

Dampier actually produced just the same as Chandler last year with more rebounds. And he is even more of a trade chip because it is non-guarenteed. And guys another thing keep in mind here. The Wolves wanted Dampier's contract BAD...thats what this coudl be about. Dallas would not give it to them, but i'm sure we would....

wishful thinking, but since MIN was talking to DAL about Dampier, but DAL insisted they take Carrol's contract and MIN wouldn't do it.....maybe we've got a chance to turn Dampier into Jefferson? Or is the Utah deal finalized
