I think I'd take the Dallas deal. Like the Dampier contract as trade bait or at least a drop in salary of $13 mil. See what MJ does with it.

Dallas trade. No question.
Carroll provides us with three point shooting, Dampier is cap relief or a veteran presence at center, and Najera will be a serviceable backup for Tyrus when Diaw is gone.
Reggie Evans is comparable to Najera and I would rather have Carroll and Dampier over a $9m PG, even if it's a solid player like Calderon.

but its those moves made + the amount /additional trade to get that point guard.

At this point, I don't care about the PG. Who says we need a PG? Augustin is capable of playing 30 minutes and there are an abundance of free agents available that would play at the veterans minimum. Larry Hughes can also be resigned and he can the point some.
Our team isn't going to be terrible if we head into the season with DJ as the starter. That's why Felton is gone. We drafted DJ to eventually start and that's what I assume that he's going to do this year. Calderon didn't start every game (I believe he started just over half of the games) in Toronto so he's obviously not the best option if you want a PG that can start and play 80 games.

Hello Cuban!
Just kidding,Respect your opinion but from my point of view unless we can change him for a decent center ala Kaman.I trust in Augustin as a starting PG but as a Spaniard i´d love to have Calde in here.
And as I said in another topic...If we want a shooter let´s hire Quentin Richardson (now he is gone...)

I'd go w/ the Dallas trade too, thats not saying Im excited about either but i think what we gave up versus what we got in return was better from Dallas...in other words I think Toronto wanted something for nothing

Raptors-Bobcats trade
---------------------------------
Chandler/Diaw salary commitment = 30.6 million
Calderon/Evans/Jones salary commitment = 38.5 million
Mavs-Bobcats trade
--------------------------------
Chandler/Ajinca salary commitment = 14.1 million (if Ajinca's option not picked up next year)
Carroll/Najera = 17.8 million (Dampier fully unguaranteed)
With Dallas also sending out some cash (if I am not mistaken), there is a clear financial advantage to taking the Mavs offer.
However, with Chandler and Ajinca possibly expiring contracts, there is less of an advantage salary cap wise next year (Bobcats added 6.65 million in salary for 2011/2012 with the Mavs trade) while a Calderon/Diaw swap would increase salary in 2011/2012 by about 1.5 million). But then, there is a benefit in 2012/2013 when Charlotte would be paying Calderon about 11.6 million, but is now paying Carroll 3.5 million.
Finances aside, I think a PG who can give you 25-30 mins a game improves a roster more than a couple of guys who will have a hard time cracking the rotation (realistically speaking). As primary backups, Gerald Henderson is a better option than Carroll and Diaw is a better option than Najera.

Dampier wont play for the Bobcats.
Carroll hit 5 threes in almost 2 years in Dallas

Re: Which trade would you rather?
Carroll played 25 games this year and averaged just below five minutes per game. I wouldn't expect him to get a lot of opportunities with that amount of playing time.
Until Dampier is officially gone, I'm considering him a useful veteran presence at center. He might be gone but there's always the possibility that he stays.

I would rather get stuck with Carrol and Edwardo then Jose given the salary. Damp should be able to get us something.

We all know our FO like TJ Ford. They should of did that Calderon/Evans trade and then flip Calderon for TJ Ford. or (TJ Ford & Jeff Foster)
