McGuire or Derrick Brown?

I think the two of them are very similar----- destined defensive role player who have the chance to excel at it,however I haven't been hearing too much about McGuire after he has arrived.

During the season when he played about 20 mpg with the Wiz,he reminded people a lot of Trever Ariza,I hope he gets a chance to shine on our roster.

UPS, he can become the next crash.

I agree with UPS, but I think his and Crash's skill sets are different. My reasoning is that I think his offensive game will become more polished throughout the year. McGuire is a spark plug to me. I really could see our 2nd unit playing a lot of small ball with Diaw manning the 5 (if LB decides T2 is going to start) leaving both on the floor at the same time. With the roster the way it is now there should be lots of interesting line-ups through out the season. We all know it won't stay the same, even if there are minor changes.

How so? He started 57 games, averaged about 26 minutes, while getting 5 points and 5 rebounds a game. That, to me, is like comparing Gerald Wallace to Dominique Wilkens.

He's incredibly overrated. But I still have no clue who McGuire is.

umm a player whose jaw-dropping length helps him greatly on defense while not having any offensive tools?Sounds exactly like Ariza on the Lakers a year or 2 ago.

Uhm, there is no McGuire on our roster, right? To me, right now, it is like discussing how much impact would Reggie Evans or Dwayne Jones will have for us.

Derrick Brown gets my vote.
Diaw will not be on the roster opening night as LB will trade him opening up minutes for Thomas and Brown and hopefully getting a young center in the Diaw deal.
Stay Tuned for more trades..LB/MJ not done yet!!

Wiki as a source? LOL. Now he is but release abotu it is brand new. Whoever has it like we signed him 9th July is not a credible source (and wiki had that, hey even I can edit the page, there is no point). Bobcats may have contacted him and have pre-agreement but confirmation from the office is what counts.

Jul 09 2010--It was part of a busy day for Higgins and the Bobcats, who also reached terms with former Sacramento and Washington reserve forward Dominic McGuire(notes) on a one-year deal worth about $900,000...The 6-9 McGuire had his best season in 2008-09, when he averaged 4.5 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Wizards. But he averaged less than a point a game last season before he was traded to Sacramento in February.

McGuire played in 10 games with the Kings before being sidelined with a foot injury. Sacramento didn’t give the 24-year-old McGuire a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

McGuire’s addition gives Charlotte a multitude of big men, perhaps to set up a future trade to address other concerns.

Why are we still questioning if we signed him?

Because it was only officially announced today.
