Boris Diaw

Post#1 » by birdman113 » Mon Aug 2, 2010 8:58 pm

As a Portland fan i was wondering if hes available at all?

Id love his versatility off the bench, and with the injury bug hitting us, we could use someone like him who can plat multiple positions.

Who do you like on our team?

Also im assuming Augustines untouchable, id love him.

I would love for a deal to be made where you could take DJ, Diaw, and we'll even give you a solid defensive big in Diop for Bayless and Oden. What do you think, if not Oden, I think Camby would be a fair trade.

Screw Bayless and Oden, just give us Camby and Rudy and you can have DJ and Diaw. Take Henderson as well if you'd like.

I wouldnt give up Oden.

id be willing to give up Camby or Pryzbilla though, and i would have second thoughts about trading Bayless but Augustins gonna be a very good player, and fits better next to Brandon.

I'd take Camby, but if you already had Miller, D.J could be your point guard of the future so you wouldn't need Bayless. Besides he doesn't appear to be a natural point guard anyways. DJ is, and he has no problem taking the big shots, he can get you steals and he plays well in New Orleans, you have to make this deal.

We need Oden bad. He's going to have a breakout season and we need him to beast it up here.

If we sent Boris out in a deal like this then we would need a secondary deal shipping someone like Hendo or Rudy out for a back up PF IMO. Other wise T2 would be the only PF on the roster.

But who could we trade for?

Bayless is bigger, much more athletic, stronger, more explosive, better scorer, finisher. I don't know how well he shoots, and I'm not sure his point guard skills are better than DJ's. I think Bayless is more like Monta Ellis and D.J is like..Eddie House without the scoring abilities, which leaves you with ????

Bayless > Augustin. Both, IMO, need to play the SG position.

If we did a Camby + Rudy deal, Camby can play the 4 with Nazr playing the 5. Najera can play garbage minutes; no need to trade for someone else.

Ideally, if Diaw and DJ were to go to Portland, Hendo would go too. More cap space.

how can he be Eddie if he can't score? but i'd take Bayless over Augustin (for over all game), DJ for defense and passing.

can't see Portland parting with Camby, especially when Howard left. and we know Oden is injury prone.

Yep, Najera is our backup, with that defensive gem what's-his-name as a deep reserve.

Oh yes...a deal like the above would be awesome, and helps both teams. But being this is "logical trade" thread, forget getting Oden. They are not giving up on that guy...he either produces or the wheels fall off. Not sure if I'd rather have Camby or Pryz, but we'd need somebody who can play the 1. I know they love Bayless so it would be hard to get him. What about Andre Miller, Pry, Sergio and a draft pick for Diaw, DJ and Henderson? That's a lot to give up for older players, but it gets us 2 expiring deals for guys who become our starters for this year, and can give us extra cap space (even more if we let Rudy walk). Portland gets their key 6th man, plus a key reserve PG & SG. They need guys like this to move to the next level. We do this to help us try to keep up in the playoff chase, but position us for the future (yes, this could be a mini blow it up if we choose not to re-sign anyone). It becomes an audition for Miller and Pryz.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'm with Slam. You don't want Camby playing PF and you don't want Najera as your primary backup to the PF spot, especially with Tyrus' attitude. We'd have to seriously make an offer for Amundson to shore up that spot.

Any deal with Portland begins with Miller and either Joel or Camby coming our way. Our two biggest needs can be filled instantly with upper level talents on short deals. Definitely can't complain.
