Whew. At least pg is settled. :D

The Bobcats have reached a deal with undrafted rookie Sherron Collins.

The two-year deal is not guaranteed, but has two triggers before January that would allow him to make the full amount of the league-minimum contract.

So this is essentially a camp contract with extra options built in to our favor, correct? Not unexpected, but another sign of ultimate mediocrity with our offseason moves.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

true story wit the pg help but hes not better than Shaun Livingston and Im preety sure LB wont play 3 pg in a rotation unless he slides Livingston to the 2.I was never a fan of Collins game and am a firm believer he is not very good nor will be.But if it means anything Cole Aldrich compared him to cp3 on draft night so who knows lol. That was terrible.

That was pretty hilarious. The only thing funnier was that the broadcast team kept bringing it up and scoffing all night long.

You didn't see that Fred? When Aldrich was being interviewed after he was drafted by the Hornets, he compared Collins to Paul. A few minutes later, he was traded. Hilarious stuff.

The signing itself is to give us three PG's as Larry loves. Personally, I would have preferred Acie Law but Collins will either play in the D or give us garbage time in some games this year.

I actually like Collins game, he is a very good ball handler, he can run the offense smoothly, make the right passes, make big shots, the only knock on him is he's short. I think he will be a good backup, and I believe if he's traded that he'll push DJ for the backup role.

Fixed. :P

IMO, he won't cut into DJ's minutes. If Collins is going to get any burn, I think LB might slide Augustin over to the two and let them both play at the same time.

no way a sherron collins/dj augustin backcourt gets abused defensively...

Because it would confirm once and for all that Larry Brown is an idiot?

Because this is the guy we took over Brook Lopez, apparently on Larry Brown's demand. I like DJ, I believe in him, but that's not even part of my consideration here. If next offseason we dumped Jax and were ready to see what Hendo could do, but ended up having an undrafted rookie cut into his minutes, I'd be upset too. We need to value these lottery picks.

I can respect that but we can't go back in time and redo the draft so you have to move on. If Collins is better then he should play. You kill LB for selecting DJ over Lopez, but you should also praise him if he gets this undrafted rookie to play at a high level.

And these lottery picks need to show up to camp IN SHAPE. ahem....DJ

I mean Collins is Shaun Livingston's potentially bad knee from being a Red Claw. Unless he pulls a Gerald Henderson about it that is.
