I think that he is going to be the starter this season. If so, what numbers can we expect from him?

assuming he can actually hang on to the job all year something like...

30mins, 12.5pts, 2reb, 5.5ast, 0.8stl, 0.1blk, 1.5threes, 40%fg, 85%ft, 38%3pt is my best guess

16/6/2 in 32 minutes sound about right to me.

If all goes right:

32mpg
15ppg (including 2 made three pointers per game on 44%/39%/80% shooting)
3prg
7apg
1.5 steals per game
2 turn overs per game

and I think he'll play around 75 games.

All in all, a pretty good fantasy option...............because lets be honest, that's why you are asking!!

Hehe, yup, I hope he pans out well! I had such high hopes after his rookie season only to see him bust out last year.

why not? I mean he averages 11.7 in 3 preseason games and dropped 11.8 in his rookie year with only 26.5 mpg. 16 doesn't sound too optimistic to me. You also have to consider that we are probably going to be even more offensively impotent than last year. So there will be a lot of freedom for DJ to score if he wants to and grew some balls over the summer.

..........and his career average ppg as a starter is 17.1

I'm just say'n.........

seems like you two are talking about what you want to see not what you expect.

45% fg? really?

i could maybe see 14ppg on 42% if he gets his confidence back and holds on the job all year playing 30+ each night.

what dj has going for him is a total lack of competition behind him. collins and javaris are 3rd string pgs at best and livingston seems destined to be in out our of the lineup all season never able to playing big mins.

Making the assumptions as others did before me (play all year, doesn't come off the bench at some point) I say...

12.3 PPG

4.2 APG

2.0 RPG

2.7 TPG

43.1 FG% (includes 36% average from 3)

28+ MPG

And I'm being generous with that assist average. This kid cannot create. I figure he'll about double his preseason output.

I hope I'm wrong, way wrong. I don't see too many options for deals any more. We're stuck with what we've got for a good while. LB better be making lemonade....

I have no idea, my guess is 14.5/2.1/5.5 If he gets his confidence back there is optimistic scenario with 16.7/2.2/6.1 but who knows, I rather rounded it down by some potential crumble of confidence which I hoep is unlikely. But we kind of have history of mishandled (by us) players becoming headcase so finger crossed.

13 pts 4 assists 2 rebounds 2 turnovers in 32 minutes 41% from the field 42% from 3

I think the 16 pts and 7 assists is possible. But the key is...LB needs to keep his damn mouth shut and let the kid play. There is a difference in teaching someone and trying to crush their spirit as they are young and trying to develope their skills.

Since he generally tends to be good for 2-3 threes a game, I dont think 15ppg is a stretch if he ends up playing starter's minutes. However, to attain that ppg avg, I think he'll be in the 39%-42% neighborhood which is nothing to write home about.

I anticipate his playmaking to be even less noteworthy; aside from the occasional nice pass, he has exhibited no sign of being a statistically consistent playmaker. 4-5 assist

Rebounds per game: 3

16 is not unrealistic at all. He scored 16 per36 his rookie year and LB's habit of playing his starting wing players 40+ mins per game 16 might even be a bit conservative. It all depends if LB is happy with him, if not LB will not hesitate to play Livingston and/or trade for a replacement.

In fact I'd say if he's playing a lot and doesn't score at least 15-16 pts a game he probably had a bad season. I don't see anyway he contributes enough in other areas to justify his place on the court if he's only scoring 10-11 pts a game with 4-5 assists.

LB will not keep his mouth shut. Will not happen. He is gonna ride whoever is his pg like a show pony. Don't see DJ being able to handle it. I think we all know LB is angling for a trade to get a pg, just hope it is not Ole Calderon. By the way, on the Raps board they have a thread debating Calderon vs Marcus Banks. Banks has 85% last I checked. Marcus friggin Banks! How low can you go!

That's because Banks had a good 4th last night and lead the 30pt come back Vs the Celts so he is the flavor of the month (hour?) there.

They also have a thread saying that DeRozan is crap.

I saw that. Hilarious!!

Getting back to Calderon. They have been down on him for sometime now. I have been watching several Raptor games and see what they mean. The guy really is lacking in all areas of his game right now. I would not take him over DJ right now. Now Devin Harris is another story! :D
