Tough matchup to begin the season especially on the road but I think we can win this one because we have some nice momentum going. DJ is like 40 years younger than Kidd, so I'm expecting him to step up and blow by Kidd all night. Plus Kidd hasn't really played much this preseason and DJ is battle tested and ready. Tough matchup will be Dirk because of his height against Boris. So we're going to need TT to step up big in this game. Can't go with the small lineup in this one because of their height, but maybe LB changes it up and forces them to matchup with us. Crash is going to have be active and grab many rebounds...

I was actually thinking that going small would be the way to go. The biggest problem I would see is that Dirk could probably trick T2 into picking up 3 fouls in 3 consecutive possessions effectively taking him out of the game.

That wold be a problem.

I'm sure LB will definitely try it at some point because a quicker lineup earlier in the season might be most effective while the Dallas bigs Dirk and Haywood adjust to playing with each other. So I agree with you that small might be best in this opening game. But with that means everyone must step up their game and be active.

Can't wait to see UPS during the regular season. He's one person both of us like a lot. :) If he can rebound the ball and play tough defense along with his aggressive offensive play, it looks like we finally got a steal in the draft.

I also want to see us flying around on defense, creating turnovers and DJ leading the break the other way. There's an opportunity for a lot of easy baskets this season, something Raymond didn't take full of advantage of.

Lets not get crazy now, no way in hell Matt Carrol should be the sixth man, he should get spot minutes, but he shouldn't even get more minutes over Henderson.. TT is the sixth man(should be starter), and prolly UPS is right after him

Hendo should not be getting minutes with the way he's been playing. Carroll should.

Thomas, Livingston, D Brown, Carroll, Diop, McGuire, K Brown would be my seven off the bench. Send Hendo to the D-League, force him to go this time, and let him improve his game with significant minutes. Brown doesn't need that help at this point. Carroll provides a bench shooter while Henderson provides defense. We already have defense; we need someone that can extend the floor with his range. That's what Carroll does best and as long as LB uses him that way, he'll be fine. If LB wants Carroll to drive to the basket every possession, then he might as well play Henderson.

It just means S-Jax is back to playing 40 plus mpg. Carroll is only going to get a courtesy look for a minute or two and if he makes shots he'll get another minute, other than that, Matt Carroll will rarely get any meaningful playing time. 6th man? Thats beyond laughable, he's more like a 12th man on a really really really bad team.

Carroll should not be getting minutes over Hendo,at least for the first 10-15 games.

Tyrus Thomas is the best on the bench (and UPS is clearly the second, as long as I count only healthy players, Livingston may shine later too). I would even think about Tyrus as a viable consideration for Sixth man of the year award, we'll see.

It's a long shot, but I hope we will get our first win against the Mavericks.

Sure it's a long shot but I remember watching Dallas lose their opener last season to the Wizards

Can't wait to actually have basketball back again. I'm thinking this ends in a 20 point rout though.

I'll admit that I benched tyrus and wallace on my fantasy teams the second I saw the Mavs. Something about them prevents us from winning.

This is horrifying streak Dallas has over us. Streaks always end sometime. I have true belief we could win against Dallas, as they are not playing so well and nobody is hot right now..
