December Trade Suggestions
December represents one of the next "waves" of trade activity in the NBA. This occurs because teams have had a chance to test drive their wheels for 15+ games and have a good idea what they've got, what they need, and what they want to do before the season gets away from them.
Here's one I will start with, as it represents a modification to the Cat's verses a full rebuild:
Charlotte and Memphis:
Cats receive Zach Randolph, OJ Mayo and Hasheem Thabeet. Griz receive Diaw, Jackson and Nazr.Trade ID #5749082
WHY FOR CHARLOTTE: Put's a young potential stud at the 2 in Mayo, putting him back in the starter's role. Randolph plays at both the 4 and 5, giving us scoring and rebounding on the post, plus he's a HUGE expiring next season. Thabeet becomes our project, and perhaps he can be more productive in LB's methodical offense. We get younger, obtain lots of $ options next year, while preserving our chances to get to the playoffs this season.
WHY FOR MEMPHIS: The folks there are clamoring for a playoff run. Jax provides them with a veteran go-to scorer at the 2, and would pair with Gay to create a major scoring threat. Diaw gives them much better ball movement from the 4, with a different set of skills than Randolph, while freeing Gasol to do more in the post. Nazr provides solid scoring and rebounding off the bench, plus salary relief next year.
PG - DJ, Livingston
SG - Mayo, Henderson, Carroll
SF - Crash, UPS,
PF - Tyrus, McGuire
C - Randolph, Thabeet, Kwame
Both teams need some rebuilding and tweaking to get to another level.

Don't think Memphis would do it.
This is my blow it up idea
Trade ID #5749136
Wallace, Jackson, Diop to Orlando for Vince Carter & Marcin Gortat.
Why for us? We unload all of our Big $, Long Term Deals and Diop. We land our Starting Center who with the right minutes could provide 15 & 10 w/ 2 blocks & is on a reasonable deal (about equal to Diop's). Vince Carter's 17 million dollar contract is only partially guaranteed for next year so, we could write him a check for $4 million to go away and creat an instant $13 million in additional salary cap room. A starting line-up for the rest of this season of DJ/Vince/Diaw/Thomas/Gortat isn't that much worse than DJ/Jack/Crash/Diaw/Nazr and would give us tons of flexibility going forward.
Why for Orlando? They become immediate Title favorites IMHO, there would not be a better starting 5 in the league than Jameer/Jack/Crash/Rashard/Howard. That's a big, tall, athletic, physical line-up that wouldn't get bullied by anyone.
I know we are giving up alot but, clearing that much cap room and getting rid of Diop would be worth it.

Re: December Trade Suggestions
With a good chance of a lockout next year I like this idea with Oorlando. We can play Livingston and DJ combination more or use Hendo and Carroll off the bench. Vince starts at the 3 with Dbrown and Dmack backing him up.
gortact and nazi ,Kuwamee at center and TT and Diaw at PF
The biggest plus off this deal is the cap space it creates next year. If the economy tanks that extra 13 million along with Nazr expiring may be a life saver for the franchise next year to keep us from getting consolidated.

Would Dallas trade us Haywood for Mohammed?

I would not do that deal. How about keeping Wallace, deal Jax, Nazr and Diaw, and require Bass from Orlando in the trade? Nobody is gonna take on Diop without us giving up too much. Even Orlando wants some cap relief and the Carter $ don't come cheap. Crash fits us too well. Getting Bass gives us a solid reserve to pair with Tyrus.

The ink hasn't dried on the freshly signed $52 million dollar, 6 year Hawyood deal.
Would you want him at that price - especially considering Nazzy is an expiring?

Worrying about overpaying a center is what got us into this mess to begin with. We should realize that if we want a decent center, we are going to have to pay for him. I would rather pay someone ~8m/year that can hopefully hold down the starting center spot rather than waste even more than that on a group of centers, none of which are really fit to start in this league -- hell, it's arguable that any of them even deserve anything more than spot minutes off the bench.

I actually wouldn't mind a trade for Haywood (local, he's struggled with having less minutes) but I'd expect them to take back every crap contract they've given us (Diop, Carroll, and Najera). They won't do that though.
I love the Memphis idea but you probably have to trade Wallace instead of Jackson to make that work. I'd still do it though; Randolph is an expiring and the dude's awesome, OJ Mayo is awesome, and Hasheem Thabeet would be LB's wet dream of wet dreams. A 7'3 defensive stud that makes Diop's offense look like Kobe's.
But I don't like anything with Orlando that nets us Tater Tot in return. I'll take Carter though. Trade for McGrady and have a Carter/McGrady lineup that will lead us straight to the lottery.

LOL on Haywood, come on dude is what...31 with 5 years left on his contract from $6 - $9.7 mil. I would rather keep Nazr and resign him on the cheap next year.

Haywood was suspended for the violation of team rules, though details have not yet emerged. He's shown a propensity for not being a great team player and has battled coaches in Washington. Things aren't going the way he suspected when he signed a six-year deal with the Mavericks in the offseason

I couldn't see Memphis doing that deal, however I would love it if it happened. Randolph is a double/double machine and Mayo is a nice young player. I've noticed that he's been coming off the bench lately though.. problems with him in Memphis???

A Caron for Jackson swap seems to make sense.
And I'd be down for a Haywood for Nazr swap but I think we're stuck with him haha

Jax and Diaw for Carter and R Anderson.
Orlando get a lot tougher defensively we clear a lot of money, make Carter our go to man for the year and get a nice young forward in Anderson.

Really like both the Memphis and Orlando trades, hit the switch let's go... and hell no on the Haywood deal he's good short term but not with that fresh contract and his age--we need a high flyer with fresh legs like J.McGee
