http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/ ... _hamilton/Wonder where Chad is getting his info from. Could this be a LB move to get someone on the team who will listen to him and be a leader who will follow him?

$12.5 million a year for this season and the next two after?
God I hope not.

Another LB move? I hope this won't happen.

That just stinks of a Bobcat move doesn't it. Pay big bucks to ensure mediocrity.

If this happens, I'm officially denouncing the team. This would only be redeemable if we got a non protected first back AND moved a combination of Jackson/Diop/Carroll.

Maybe if the front office tries hard enough, we can put together LB's old piston team. Boy, that would be fun to watch.

Well, sending them DJ, Diop and Jax and getting back Rip and Stuckey would not be too bad. The ESPN Trade Machine has that favoring us with +4 wins. I Stuckey would likely put to rest any PG issues. Just saying it would not be horrible it the right contracts were going out the door.

I can already envision LB totally destroying Stuckey's confidence and throwing him under the bus for not 'playing the right way'. I still don't think it would be worth it and I think Jackson would just flat out refuse to play for the Piston's!

LB will be gone after this season. And as long as the head case Jax is on another team, I could care less if he is happy and wants to show up for them. He would be their problem, no longer ours.

Hate to see Jax go but Stuckey over DJ and RIP over Jax, AND Finnally getting rid of Diop might work.Would rather have Rip than Diop. points and assists line up. Then maybe we could shop Wallace/Diaw later for younger 3 and draft pick
Stucky/ Livingston
RIP/ Dmac/Hendo
Wallace /UPS
Diaw/TT
Nazr/Kuwamee
and bring up some d league players

But would the Piston take on Jax's salary knowing he won't suite up? Doubt it
That team would also be SO boring to watch, such a LB team though. And if LB does go at the end of the season, what other coach could get anything out of that team.
OK, fair enough if we trade Wallace and Diaw for young prospects and picks but i would hate to see Rip take minutes away from developing players, for 3 years.
Even though Stuckey is listed as 6'5 he has no real outside shot, but yes, he would be an upgrade on defense and probably offense. I'm kind of ok on this part.
But being stuck with 32 year old rip running off screens for jumpers at 12mill a year will be painful to endure. Maybe I'm just bias as i hate Rip and his ridiculous mask. Overall, I still don't really like it, unless we do trade Wallace and Diaw very shortly after.

This has the Bobcat stink all over it. Big bucks for an aging/declining talent who is a fairly inefficient scorer.
I would consider it only if Diop was thrown in, but - even if - this is definitely not a move that I can get excited about. Rip Hamilton isn't the answer here. We need an organizational colonic.

just keep adding bubble gum to the crack in the dam.
getting stuckey back in a deal seems like wishful thinking.

Only if they added a 1st round pick.
With no pick I would do:
Diop, Hammer and Eddie for Rip
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=24uegfaAnd I guess Rip would be our stupidly expensive 6th man/scorer off the bench.

I dont know about taking on Rip without getting Stuckey. I really want Stuckey here. But I completely forgot that Jax was a part of the Malice at the Palace stuff. They may not take him in Detroit anyway.

wow rip really? these days he is nothing special and super expensive i see no reason to trade for him even if we are dumping diop

It's really not a problem, since a third team could easily take Jax and give the Pistons a fair sg in return (possibly the Hawks could agree a Jax for Crawford swap)
