i would probably go with hanners for the rest of the season and see that he can do, then based on that, decide this summer.

How do you propose that?
His record in Sacramento is 30-75

Sam Vincent. He would work for free and we would be guaranteed a lottery pick
The only down side might be a bloody locker room mutiny.

Mark Jackson.
He's a tremendously smart guy who played over a decade in the NBA. If you listen to him as an analyst, he knows his stuff. He's still young by coaching standards so he could relate to alot of the players but he is firm and no non-sense enough to command respect. He's stated his intent to break into coaching. Pair him with a vet assistant, sign him cheap and give him a shot.
As far as parting ways with Larry Brown - its not a dilemma at all. Brown doesnt have to be fired (thus paid for nothing). If the FO would totally blow up the roster to rebuild from scratch instead of taking expensive short-cuts, Brown would probably walk out the door on his own. But this is merely what needs to happen, not what I expect to happen.

I agree I think he could be the next doc rivers. and I think Higgins should also be fired or demoted.. and Kevin Pitchard should take his place.

MJ would be the worst coach I've seen in a while. The guy could play and had good floor IQ, but he's never really given any signs that he could coach. Plus coaching is a job, and something you have to pay attention to. He's earned his right to play golf all day.

put dave hanners in at interim now and throw 200k towards some great basketball mind with lots of friends (there has to be somebody out there) to shake the tree of everyone he knows in the sport for the next 6 months, looking for someone ready to throw his hat in the ring as an NBA coach and put elite athletes in a position to score more points than the other team can on the court night in and night out.

I would love to see us get a guy like Tom Izzo, he runs a productive game in Mich St despite not having super tallents, he is one of the few college coaches I could see suceeding in the NBA, the other being Dukes Coach (no way in hell Im going to spell his name).
