Think of the Bobcats' all-time 12 best players. Would that team make it out of the first round of the playoffs for sure?
From Hoopshype Twitter:
http://twitter.com/hoopshypePG: Raymond Felton
SG: Stephen Jackson
SF: Gerald Walace
PF: Emeka Okafor
C: Tyson Chandler
6th man: Jason Richardson
7: DJ Augustine
8:Jared Dudley
9: Raja Bell
10:Boris Diaw
11: Tyrus Thomas
12: Jason Kapono ??
Coached By: Paul Silas
With this line-up i think they would just make it to the playoffs. With Miami, Orlando, Boston, and the Hawks or Bulls most likely taking the 1-5 position this year i think that this team would be defeated in the first round.

Best players or best Bobcats´ players i.e. not considering their games with other teams (Chandler could be prime example as he was not healthy at all with us)?

i saw that tweet last night and i was thinking about the same thing. we dont have any stars, but we would certainly be super deep.
my 15-man team that i would take for a season.
pg: felton/knight/augustin
sg: jrich/bell/brown
sf: wallace/jackson/dudley
pf: diaw/thomas/herrmann
c: okafor/chandler/mohammed
i gave jrich the start at sg because i think we would need some outside shooting on that 1st team. defensively, our 2nd unit would be NASTY.

We've only been around for 6 years and started the first couple of years under some pretty restrictive NBA holds put on us so of course our 12 best player list is going to be very weak.
I agree with Fats line up, although I would swap Shannon Brown out with Hammer.

What? Brown is better than hammer. Though if we're talking about these players being in their primes... Jackson would definitely start SG over JRich.

I would also keep Hammer - pre-Larry Brown hammer that is. Remember how money that guy was for us? It is sad looking at that though, even with the very best players we've ever had all on one team we still wouldn't make much noise in the playoffs. On top of that, the best team is basically what we had last year lol.

Alonzo Mourning
Larry Johnson
Jamal Mashburn
Stephen Jackson
Baron Davis

Ya, that's what I was thinking Rich. The '05 Hammer.

I still think I'd start Brevin. Those first two years, dude put up 12/9/3/2 for us on a turrible team.

50 wins ain't so bad. Besides, look at say the Celtics pre big three. Look at the 6 years before that and make a best 12.

That starting lineup is not good. Minus Diaw, that team won 32 games. I'd definitely start S-Jax over JRich, a healthy Chandler over Okafor.

Dude the best 12 Celtics of all time on 1 team would f*ck the league so bad that only the Lakers could counter it... Rather lets look at the Celtics FIRST 6 years and pick players.... All of a sudden that team seems alot better despite the lack of true stars at that time....

for fun,
lets to all-time franchise teams and rank the top 5. and lets do it only using players post ABA merger (1975) because its really hard to compare pre ABA merger to today's NBA. that way we arent getting into arguments about guys like bob petitte or bill sharmin.
teams based of players when they played for that franchise
my celtics team
pg: d. johnson, rondo, archibald
sg: havileck, allen, ainge
sf: bird, pierce, lewis
pf: mchale, garnett, maxwell, walker
c: parish, walton
my lakers team
pg: magic, nixon
sg: bryant, scott, e. jones
sf: worthy, wilkes, rice,
pf: gasol, odom, green, horry
c: kareem, shaq, vlade
my rockets team
pg: murphy, smith, francis (because you cant win rings if he is your starter),
sg: drexler, reid, maxwell
sf: mcgrady (moving him to sf), mccray
pf: sampson, barkley, thorpe, scola
c: olajuwon, malone, ming
more teams coming soon...
