What is Diaw's role on this team in the future? Is he an important piece, or do you foresee management trying to deal him in an attempt to get younger and cheaper?

He has PLAYER Option. Which he obviously opts in.

Yes. Near future, that is. I can't see many takers for him so we are kind of stuck. I have no problem with it, he is a great faciliator, drives you mad sometimes but overall there are many worse contracts around the league (hey even on our roster).Tyrus gets his minutes regardless and can play with a lot of energy off then bench not needing to bother with foul troubles. So we are set at PF and it won't change in foreseeable future (I guess), the only thing I don't particularly like about it that it would be problematic to absorb another quality PF player (no center like at least) when opportunity arise (trade or BPA in draft).

One thing that has become obvious is that DJ plays well with Boris as well as TT. And if the team is set to keep DJ at the PG, then I think they keep Diaw and TT and let them split time. I am not seeing either of them on the trading block anytime soon. I think Crash goes first.

i really like diaw. he is frustrating because he has so much talent and it always feels like he could do more, but regardless he is pretty darn good all-around player. he does everything well. he plays good man defense. great at boxing out. his man rarely has a big night. and he has played in basically every game since becoming a bobcat. i would not be looking to move him if i were the front office, unless they go for a total blow up. as long as they have playoff aspirations they need to keep him around.

Diaw has been one of our best, most consistent players this season.

He's basically the best all-round big the Cats have, although TT's offense is getting better. He's a good player who fits into any scheme the team has, although that exact same quality of adaptability can make his greatest value be as a trade chip.

His value to this team isn't quite as high as it would be on a contender using him off the bench, but his contract is too big for that. We're his best suitors.

I would love him on the Celtics. We've been playing Big Baby Davis 30mpg all season (6th man minutes), even before the KG injury, and while he's a nice player for $3 mil, he's not good enough to be getting those kind of minutes on a contending team. His aggressive shooting mentality in particular has been damaging. Diaw certainly doesn't have that problem! As for his salary, ~$9 mil is acceptable fare for the 3rd big on a playoff team (Odom, Haywood, Okur, Przybilla/Camby) or a 6th man (Crawford, Terry, Arenas).

Nate Robinson + Big Baby for Diaw would be something advantageous for both teams, IMHO.

No. Apart from his contribution to this team, I want to keep him because of his contract. He's going to be $9million expiring next year

It would be cool, and it'd get Tyrus into the starting lineup, but we'd have 4 PG's and we can't take back two players for one, so why not add in livingston or collins? It wouldn't be a bad trade for either team, but the Celtics probably wouldn't want to give up nate since West has question marks, but Diaw can do everything Baby can and more.

Collins' salary is small enough to include but Livingston's $3+ mil would require additional contracts from Boston and I don't think any one would fit the bill. Livingston's presence would probably give Charlotte pause. If Nate were to take Livingston's minutes (a likely scenario, IMO, because of his superior offensive capabilities and Charlotte's need for shooters), Livingston would join Carroll, Diop and Najera as dead money and that can't be appealing

If I'm the C's brass, I'd rather roll the dice on Delonte West staying healthy/sane than rely on Big Baby Davis as the 6th man.
