GT Feb 9th Charlotte @ Indiana 7:00pm

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Tue Feb 8, 2011 4:19 pm

The Pacers are playing the Heat tonight and will have to fly from Miami to Indiana straight after the game for tomorrow nights game against us.

While we should be faily well rested (especially Jax along with DJ, Boris and Kwa-Man), lets hope their game goes into quadruple OT tonight and they are nice and tired for tomorrow nights game!

Not to mention we just beat the Celtics on our home court, and have played well on the road. I'd bet on us if we still had Tyrus right now. As it is, I'll just hold my (metaphorical) monies.

Would it be better for us tomorrow night if the Pacers beat the Heat tonight (they are 9pts ahead with 11:00 to go in the game) or for them to blow the lead and lose on a buzzer beater?

Positives:
Option #1: They get ahead of themselves after the surprise win and we take advantage
Option #2: They are emotionally drained and we take advantage

Negatives:
Option #1: They go into our game full of confidence and belief in themselves and they take advantage
Option #2: They feel cheated and go into tomorrow night with the eye of the tiger and they take advantage

????

I'm following a game thread on a separate forum and pretty much everyone was posting choke pictures when the Pacers were up 9 8 minutes ago

Either way, I think we win because they will be elated/dejected after this win/loss with the way the game is going

LBJ might have just iced it - unless the Pacers can send it to OT.

Personally, I am hoping for OT. Lots and lots of OT's!!

Dahntay Jones proving why he will forever be a deep, deep bench player at best.

Why the hell have him inbounding the ball???

Should be a good game. The pacers are massively better than they were during the latter stages of o'briens tenor, and the bobcats aren't playing bad either...

I'd be more worried if we weren't such a young team.

This is a big game in the playoff race, I believe we clinch the series, and you guys have a pretty rough schedule coming up. The players will know this, so we can't afford to think about the close game in miami too much.

i guess its not to say they own us. all-time record is 9-14 vs pacers. both teams traded victories consistently for several years. but we have lost last 4 to pacers. that needs to change.

This should be real test of cajones. I have a feeling that no one here will go easy on the Bobs if they come up short tonight.

Such an interesting game with so many plots and sub plots:.

1. Jax playing against (one of) his old team - the team that made him "famous"
2. Jax coming of our biggest win this season where he played little to no part because of getting tossed in the 1st half
3. Two teams that are finding their way after their head coaches were canned and replaced mid season after holding their teams back
4. Two players in DJ and Hibbert from the same draft class who are starting to find themseleves given their new found freedom
5. The implications to the current playoff race
6. The implications to the tie breaker between the two teams
7. The fact that both interm head coaches might be coaching for a full time position past this season

Does it get much more important than this game?

This is definitely one of the most important game of the season. I believe we will be fighting for the 8th spot with the Pacers for the remainder of the season. A win vs lose tonight will translates to a 2 games spread between the two teams. Please Bobcats... Rape the heck out of these Pacers!
