First:
Wallace
Jack
Mexicat
Second:
I had to rant on NBA.com last night - I know it's meaningless, but this is the stock response I received to my tirade:
"Dear Michael:
Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association with your
concerns regarding officiating. The NBA?s highest priority is to ensure
that every game is determined on its merits.
We take seriously the performance of our officials. They are subjected to
incredible scrutiny by the league, including tracking every call they make
and holding them to the most rigorous standard in all of sports. Not only
is their past performance measured, charted, and evaluated, but we employ
a system of stringent metrics designed to continually hone their skills
and improve their overall ability. We strive to ensure that NBA games are
officiated at the highest possible level with the understanding that
perfection is an unattainable goal.
Thank you again for your concern. We appreciate your feedback regarding
this issue.
Sincerely,
NBA Fan Relations"

That's awesome MPM.
Only thing better would have been if you responded to that with:
"I don't think you understand or might have over looked my last name, which happens to be Jordan".

Yep. Welcome to the world of automated etiquette. They have a pulldown where you can select your contact topic and NBA officiating is among the topics.

what is more annoying, sending an email and getting no response or sending an e-mail and getting an automated cookie cutter response?

Definitely the automated response. It tells me they've washed their hands of the situation. They've thrown together some copy crafted by the marketing and legal departments and it has become their default position on any officiating complaint that comes in - they don't have to think about it anymore. At least when I don't get a reply I can fantasize that the email was quickly printed off and urgently rushed up to David Stern's office
BTW - Jackson's agent spoke up about the Pacers non-call. Love it when they pull the old agent as voicebox for the player thing. Agents can't be fined, right?

You have to imagine though, that they got quite literally thousands of those emails. "Omg wy did derk roes nt git teh cawl? omg". There's probably better ways to contact them.

Funny, and very true. However, like most businesses these days, there aren't going to make those other contact channels readily available. The contact form was my heat-of-the-moment weapon of choice.
