Means, he has the potential or talent to be a really good player and some fans hang on that hope that someday Doris will wake the F up and put in work to become THAT player, but reality is, he never will. Hence, "he is who he is".
Went with 1 and 5, both define Diaw.

The first thing that popped in my head was: Fatty Frenchman.
Hard choice between Segway and 30 pounds.

Too bad Boris doesn't have that kind of passion about basketball. Wish he was in that shape also.

I don't think Boris is passionless about basketball, I just think he's one part French and the other part wired differently in terms of how he enjoys basketball. He places making that extra pass that leads to a dunk or 3 in higher esteem than actually dunking on somebody. It's not worse, just different.

I chose the Segway one. Had someone just typed that out as a joke, that he's fat because he doesn't walk anywhere he just rides around on a Segway, it would've been funny... but there are pictures... it's a fact. This can be expanded to other aspects of his life, especially his hoops game. Coasting through life on a Segway.

This is definitely it. Diaw loves basketball, he really loves it, it's just that he tends to place himself so much lower than the team that sometimes it ends up actually hurting the team.

Can you give me a scouting report on Charlotte Boris? It sounds like you share many of the frustrations we had with him.

His biggest problem is passing up the open shot/drive that he can make on a high percentage in favor of getting his teammates involved. It makes him look lazy, but I don't think it is lazy. He plays more in the post for us too.

Super creative in the post - especially when he is on the move - but doesn't show it enough.
Reliable 3pt shooting.
Great court vision.
Unselfish to a point of fault.
Respectable defender.
A little passionless.

I think that's the main point right there. He never got the nba feeling, he still plays like he played in europ, unselfish, almost like a PG. That did great in Phoenix when he played a full season as the starting center, him along with Nash were doing wonders.
He could be so much more though, it pains everyone...

Well he is a point forward. A little like a PG is what he is. The problem isn't the passing, it's the failure to shoot.

Trade him to Miami, they will get their ring...
