wow, i've got chills. 2 first round picks and I believe Joel the expiring... we will miss you Crash for everything you've done for the NBA in Charlotte. You will be missed and always welcomed back with open arms.

The last original Bobcat. Thanks for embracing the city, never complaining, always working harder than you needed to, and leading us to our first playoff berth. Go do big things in Portland (except for 2013), and we'll see you in a week. Gonna be weird not having him on the team, and playing against him next week, and the week after.

i think you can truly say he gave his all for this franchise and it was really cool to watch him blossom as a player. however, with the bobcats where they are in the cycle of competitiveness it makes sense to move him. i hope he sees much future personal and team success because he deserves it.

I knew when I was at the Raptors game that this was the last time I was gonna watch Gerald in a Bobcats Uni.

The reason i became a Bobcats fan. DAMN i will miss him SOOOOOO much. He achieved the 2 of the 3 goals he had envisioned for himself, making the All Star team and the All Defensive. 3rd being winning a chip. He's in a good spot in Portland to make that dream come true.

Remember last year when he was one of the top 5 small forwards in the league. Good times.

I definitely think so. He's been our best player and was an original Bobcat, he makes sense as our first jersey retirement.

He'll definitely be missed, he always gave 100% (to the point that we worried he gave too much! pretty rare) and he continued to improve as years went by. He's the one player who nobody ever really complained about, and he made for a number of my favorite Bobcats memories. I wish him all the best in Portland.

Class act, good player, hard worker. What more could you ask for?

Thanks GW for being our Capt and Leader.I know you are leaving allot of friends .. You are going to a team that will showcase you around quality veterans.( or make you 6th man of the year2012 which will extend your carreer.) You're automatically in the 2011 playoffs..We loved you here in Charlotte ,but you had to carry this team too many times at the expense of your future carreer and body. Your jersey should be retired to the Cablebox rafters.
