Crash is over dramatic

All he needed to say was how he will miss the Charlotte fans and appreciates them for all they have done for him. Talk about how he will miss his teammates, and thank the organtization for a few good years and making him lots of money. Then say how you are happy to be a Trailblzer and appreciate the Portland fans and will work to make them a Championship contender. That's all. Not all this drama queen BS about being betrayed by someone you love....... Be more professional and stop crying.

Yeah a little nieve of him. And if he really didn't see this coming then that is on him. How long has his name been in rumors? I mean you HAD to at least think there was a chance of it happening.

I think the crying may be less about being traded and more about his situation. Think about it. He went from the face of a franchise, starting every game, playing some of the most minutes out of anyone in the league. Now he is not only not the face but he is also not starting nor getting as many minutes. And on top of that he has been very average for the Blazers. Maybe he is right and he will begin to start, but I think if the blazers had that in mind then he would had already been starting. Either that or he is extremely dumb and it takes him this long to get the playbook. I also think he is fustrated with playing PF. So while he is whining, I think it may be less about the trade itself and the Bobcats and more about his new situation. Anyone in his position would had rather stayed here.

I'm sure he heard all of the trade rumors, particularly with Portland, but I guess he was told just that morning, like 2 hours earlier that he wasn't going to be traded. I think he understands the business, but when your boss says you're going no where, then 2 hours later your wife wakes you to tell you you're going to Portland, I can understand his feeling. Hey, if his wife had to wake him to tell him he was traded, maybe he dreamt the big bossman telling him just that morning that he wasn't going to be traded instead of it actually happening!

Who said he was going no where? Do you have a link? That was never said locally by anyone, so i kind of have to doubt it. I would think if it was true that someone locally would had said something in the paper or something. I seroiusly doubt MJ would tell him he is not being traded when MJ was the one trying to trade him all this time...MJ was the one pushing these trades to get salary relief. Maybe Silas told him that, but Silas is NOT involved in any of the trade talks so how much does Silas really know...

Well, there goes him opting out after next season and coming back.

I think he feels "betrayed" because we traded him to a team where he was going to play PF and not have an immediate starting job. I guess he feels that we had some obligation to trade him to a team with a better situation for him to start and shine.

He's been mentioned in rumors for YEARS though. Hell, wasn't it two years ago when he was rumored to go to Portland for Travis Outlaw and some other players? I don't buy the "didn't see it coming" line at all. He knew this was coming, especially after how poorly he played for much of the season.

So, we going to rewrite history and turn Wallace into a cancer now, too?

His being offended at being traded shows at least there's one guy who cared enough about this team that he'd be willing to stay on what has become a quickly sinking ship.

I'm guessing over the next season or so, a player that wants to be a part of whatever it is we are doing here will be a novelty that we won't deride. Hell, the only guys that will want to be here are scrubs like Cunningham and McGuire that can use this as their chance to "get theirs."

A good player that actually wants to be a part of this mess? Maybe Wallace did get one too many concussions.

No one is saying he is a cancer. That's far from what i'm saying. I just think he went a little out of th way to say something that wasn't necessary.

Seriously, "over dramatic". Get outta here. Who was the douche who almost traded him for TJ Ford. He's been in trade rumours for years, but he still played at a high level. What we should be looking at, like WHamilton pointed out, is that he STILL wanted to be here after all this BS.

If this is over dramatic, i wonder what fans will say when Jack leaves.

This was the best thing for Wallace. His words are very telling, it shows someone who became too comfortable in his situation. In other words this became more of a 9-5 job where he drove his kids to school in the morning, punched into work and then punched out. Wash rinse repeat. Wash rinse repeat. It showed in his play as became passionless during games a lot of times over the past 2 seasons.

We need young hungry very hard working players if we're going to turn this franchise around and build towards something big. Gerald was really good at times even great, but we need to see that fire and passion all season long, not once a week. Hopefully this trade reignites that fire in his belly and he does well in Portland. And if he keeps thinking and talking about the nice cushy life he had in Charlotte, then Portland will grow tired of him and his contract real fast.

I dont thnk he was a cancer to the team at all. My point is that he is going way too far in this "betrayed by someone you love" BS. That is way overboard with the drama.

↑ That. +1 And you all please choose a nick withou wallace or crash in it before you would whine that Crash is a human being and has feelings. What a disrespect.

He should be happy that his value got higher than it was when he came in the league more than anything. We got him off of the expansion draft and traded him away for an expiring contract, and 2 first round picks. That's a pretty good return.

I think it is a good reflection of his character that he was down for the cause so to speak. He was the heart & soul of our team for so long that it was a genuine shock to him that he was traded despite the rumours surrounding him as a trade asset for the last 2-3 seasons or so. This was his team so I'm not surprised that he's disappointed that he's headed to Portland(& the bench) what he should realise though is that he was basically our only asset with trade value at this present time & we obviously need to rebuild(again)

I don't buy too much into the rumors. Understandably he's upset about being traded from a place he loved, and I think in some ways Jordan could've dealt with the trading process a bit better, but ultimately Wallace will get used to his new situation. The minute thing could be bothering him somewhat but in the end if he plays well he'll get plenty of time. Because we have LA and Batum, those minutes won't be as high as they were in Charlotte, but that's not to say they won't be coming once he adjusts to the system here in Portland. Anyways, I should probably say that even as a Blazers fan there was a little piece of me telling me that Crash belonged in Charlotte, but the NBA's a business after all. Hopefully the trade ultimately can work out to both teams' advantage.

If those are his honest feelings, you are all wrong to mock him or claim he shouldn't have spoken.

true captaincrunk, Crash put his heart & soul into this team & he's allowed to voice his honest opinion about his disappointment at leaving. Regardless he should have his jersy retired after he retires!!

It would definitely lessen the sting I think. A guy like Crash probably would never have his # retired anywhere else.

that is true, we need to show that as a small market our players are like our family & rewarding a guy like crash with being our first retired number for being our "Franchise" guy is just reward for his years of service. He is the closest thing to a superstar that we have had(which is sad actually)
