i kinda wanted to see him come back to the NBA so i would watch another team's fanbase go through the phases of larry.

Seeing as how LB has a phobia for young talent, I would love to see him epically fail at the college level

Are you guys forgetting LB was actually a damn good college coach? He won a National Championship and Coach of the Year while at Kansas and took a UCLA team to the title game that was loaded with Freshman.

He has a 177-61 (.744) record as a college coach which is pretty good, albeit a small sample size. Dean Smith was .776, Roy Williams is .799, Coach K is .761, Bob Knight was .708

It would be really weird if he took over NC State. WEIRD

I believe he was coaching Kansas when Danny Manning played there? That was a long time ago and the man is older now. I'm not saying he won't have success but his NBA philosophy will influence him more than his philosophy from 20 years ago. I can see him bring in an assload of JC players, building a quick contender, then bailing to avoid the tough rebuilding job.

Nope, were just poking fun. But you also have to remember....how long ago was that? Haha. LONG time ago.

I really think Larry needs a hobby. I mean, geez, he married a babe much younger than he, had some kids who are still very young and could use a grandfa...I mean a father around the house.

Unfortunately his hobbies mostly include point guards and **** with their minds... I wonder if he'll try to encourage one of his children to become a PG just so he could fulfill his destiny without having to coach again.

wiretap says LB wants the UNLV coaching job. i really hope he gets it. i want to watch him coach in the current college landscape. i think it will be an epic failure, or at best a mild underachievement ending in a less than spectacular 2 year run where he will "resign" after the team only gets to the NIT during this time.

If he wants to coach in college, some team will hire him. It may not be UNLV but some school is desperate enough to give him a shot.

He might actually like the college game. Less games, more practice, and he has control over his roster.

more practice? you mean, less practice, right? i though college coaches were limited to a certain amount of hours per week they are allowed to hold official practices. no chance college coaches get more practice time than nba coaches, even with more games.

(edit - NCAA practice limits: no more than 4 hours per day, maximum of 20 hours per week)

I'm thinking more along the lines of just hanging with players (I guess they can do that). I mean, if a college player comes in the gym, I guess LB can work with him individually. To me, that seems to be what LB wants; working with players and teaching the game.

I guess LB would be a great assistant, but I don't think it has to be "ego" if he just doesn't want to do the job. If I were a CEO, I wouldn't take a pay and authority cut just because I'd make a totally awesome VP.

I actually do think he would find success again in the NCAA. He gets to be a complete tyrant to his players and it's virtually expected, it's a place where teaching execution is of paramount importance, and the talent levels have evened so drastically in the past decade that he doesn't even have to be at a major power to make a serious tourney run or two.

Henderson's been playing pretty well since he's been given a chance.

I'd say Morrison. Morrison has a decent rookie campaign, suffers an injury, then he comes back for LB's first season. His confidence is shot and he goes away to LA to rot on the bench. Bernie worked with Morrison even as he sucked it up at times; Larry Brown wasn't interested.

I would have rather kept Morrison/Brown than VladRad.
