#Bobcats G Gerald Henderson will undergo surgery to repair torn labrum in left hip as soon as today.

Doctor in Colorado discovered Henderson's injury when he was examining his knee. Had tendinitis issues last season.
Glad to see him getting it done early instead of waiting till right before the season starts like a lot of guys do.

#Bobcats G Gerald Henderson will have surgery today. Recovery time 4-6 months. So if on low end will be ready for start of camp.
Ugh!

4-6 months??? Sheesh! Be nice to be able to at least start next season with a fully healthy roster.

This also severely limits his ability to work on his game and improve upon his weak links. Could potentially destroy any chance he has next year to make big strides in his game. Bad, bad news. Lets hope he can come back and recover on the shorter end. We NEED him to keep developing and improving.

Ouch! That really hurts, but also opens up a position of need possibly when it comes Draft time.

I'm pretty sure all our positions are positions of need.

This really isn't doing anything to refute his "fragile" tag.
Between him and Tyrus..............

Ssst, kills any chances of him working on weaknesses a la handles and improving his jumper, conditioning, strength...not good. In fact, we better start looking at upgrades.

How did he sustained that torn labrum? Oh well... At least they "discovered" it in the off-season. But damn, 4-6 months is long. I hope he can still somehow work on his handles while recovering.

We haven't played for a month. Why wasn't this op done in April to get a head start???

I'm betting that he wasn't feeling much better even after taking some time off, and the specialist starting looking for other possible issues. Joint issues can be isolated but sometimes they are a result of other problems that help cause the problem. This can help him a lot in the long run...but his development certainly took a 1 year setback.

Twitter world I made it through successful hip surgery. I thank God for my health and I appreciate my followers for all the support!

Surgery on Henderson left hip complete and he is feeling fine and resting comfortably. Will be on crutches 8 weeks, start therapy 2morrow.

Henderson recovery time after left hip surgery is still estimated at 4-6 months.

It's going to put him right at August-October for recovery. No Summer League this year but he will miss a lot of off-season development. The most important thing is that we don't rush him back like we tried with Tyrus and Stephen.

our best prospect out for a third to half a year is terrible. do we still go with a SF at 9 in the draft like it seems that Khawi is the consensus, or does this make us draft (if they're available) honeycutt/hamilton at 19 instead of a big? management has a tonne of issues at the moment.

I am not sure who you mean when you say that our third best prospect is terrible. I thought that our young guys looked promising just lacking two superstars to put them over the top. If Kawhi is on the board when we pick, and we pass over him I will be hot as Fatleaver was when we skipped over Brook. He is a no brainer at this point. When I think about what our team really needs though I got to say especially if we do walk away with Kawhi at nine we got to get Reggie Jackson. He could be the perfact compliment to DJ at the point. While DJ is mostly a outside shooter. Reggie could be a big long defensive stopper at the point, and maybe even the two. 7'0 wing span in a pointguard? If his work ethic is worth anything he is destined to be an elite defender.

Tyrus won't be out that long.
