Not that the NBA would ever do it, but if the NBA squashed all the small teams by creating a super league that combined all the players from each divison onto one team to face each other all season, who would you follow and why?
The Atlantic All Stars:
PG: D.Will - Rondo - Holiday
SG: Ray Allen - Iggy - DeRozan
SF: Melo - Paul Pierce - Fields
PF: Amare - KG - Ed Davis
C: Lopez - Bargs - Brand
The Central Champs:
PG: Rose - Collison - Jennings
SG: Gordon - George - Redd
SF: Granger - Deng - Prince
PF: Boozer - Jamison - Gibson
C: Bogut - Noah - Monroe
The South East Beasts:
PG: Wall - Hinrich - Nelson
SG: Wade - Joe Johnson - Crawford
SF: LBJ - Jax - Jason Richardson
PF: Bosh - Horford - Haslem
C: Howard - McGee -Kwaman
The South West Winners:
PG: Paul - Kidd - Parker
SG: Manu - Martin - Mayo
SF: Butler - Gay - Battier
PF: Dirk - Z-Bo - Scola
C: Duncan - Yao - Gasol
The North West Wonderers:
PG: Westbrook - Harris - Miller
SG: Harden - Hayward - JR Smith
SF: Durant - Wallace - Beasley
PF: LMA - Love - Ibaka
C: Nene - Al Jefferson - Perkins
The Pacific Power:
PG: Nash - Curry - Mo Williams
SG: Kobe - Ellis - Tyreke
SF: Hill - Wright - Artest
PF: Gasol - Griffin - Odom
C: Bynum - Kaman - Jordan
Also, how would your roster look for each Super Team (three players per position is the rule)?
P.S. Sorry to the 360 or so NBA players I just put out of a job!!

OH CRAP!!! Thanks SWeed and Fats. Durant in, AK47 out.
Imagine how exciting every game would be if this was the entire league? Even better, play it like the NFL and AFL - played only over weekends to increase the impact and quality of the product.
Forget about the zillions the NBA would lose, but the NBA would be outstanding as a product.
Maybe we can post variations of the Super League, having two teams from each divisions so it's 6 from the East and 6 from the West. That way the teams would still be awesome, but not quite as loaded.

ok, here are my teams - not always the best players, but guys i think would mesh and fill roles for the team and that team's identity.
Atlantic - small ball, pressure defense, run and gun
pg: rondo/calderon/holiday
sg: d.williams/allen/morrow
sf: pierce/iggy/fields
pf: melo/garnett/young
c: amare/bargnani/brand
* lopez excluded for being soft and slow
Central - drive and kick, play great defense
pg: rose/jennings/collison
sg: hamilton/gordon/salmons
sf: granger/deng/delfino
pf: noah/hansbrough/hickson
c: bogut/hibbert/varejao
* boozer excluded for being inconsistent, injury prone and crap on defense
Southeast - 3 superstars, who cares what style, nastiest defensive team ever.
pg: hinrich/wall/nelson
sg: wade/ja.crawford/jrich
sf: james/j.johnson/jackson
pf: jsmith/bosh/diaw
c: howard/horford/mcgee
* hinrich starts for defense and 3pt shooting with wall leading the 2nd team. wall would be a waste with wade and james - too many guys that need ball in hands.
Norhtwest - low post madness with runners at guards and the leagues best scorer on the wing
pg: lawson/felton/miller
sg: westbrook/harden/roy
sf: durant/wallace/matthews
pf: aldridge/jefferson/milsap
c: love/nene/camby
* westbrook where he belongs, at sg. lawson will get durant the ball where he needs it.
Pacific - run and gun led by the king of running pgs, nash and his protegee curry
sg: nash/curry/brooks
sg: ellis/gordon/evans
sf: kobe/wright/hill
pf: griffin/odom/lee
c: p.gasol/frye/dalembert
* bynum was suspended from the team for being a punk
Southwest - defense, halfcourt, low post magic, team of legendary old-timers, rebounding galore
pg: paul/kidd/parker
sg: manu/terry/t.allen
sf: gay/marion/battier
pf: dirk/randolph/west
c: duncan/m.gasol/scola
* had to play scola out of position to make room for west, gay gets to be a garbage man, which is perfect for him.
central team is easily the worst and southeast has to be the favorites. but southwest and pacific and atlantic would be most fun to watch for me.

I have to say, that Southeast team would just be unstoppable. Southwest is the only team close, I think those two would pretty much dominate the rest.

This would ruin the NBA, because nobody would have triple doubles or score 40 a night. Plus it would make players choose other sports such as football to go to college instead of NBA because you have no chance to actually make the team let alone play.

I don't think it's triple doubles or 40 point nights that make a great league - it's the level and standard of play and in my Super League every game would be outstanding because the rosters would be bursting with talent.
The only players that would choose other sports would be the ones that aren't good enough to play in my Super League - and I would be very ok with that. The idea is to filter out the crap players and have teams that are legitimately deep at all positions.

They do stand out. Hopefully the next step of expanding my Super League will level things out a little although I think the Beasts will always have a pretty strong team regardless.
