No way we have both Maggs and Rip on our roster. That's $22+ mil for this year alone.


I'd have to get an unprotected first next year, and I'm sure you wouldn't be comfortable with that.

I'm trying to say, we're rebuilding, so why would we trade a bad contract young guy we like for a bad contract old guy we don't (who also plays the same spot as Hendo)?


Rebuilding teams don't commit $22+mil in payroll to two old unnecessary vets. That's why the only way I'd do it is if we get the Detroit pick unprotected next year.

I really think this team wants to see Thomas paired with Biyombo. Honestly, I do as well. I think the two will compliment eachother well on offense and defense. Thomas has a mid-range game to not clog the lane for Biyombo on offense and has the weak side blocking ability on defense that they could really thrive together. However if we were looking to trade Thomas, it would defiantly not be for that. For an unprotected pick next year, probably. But not for your offer.

Make it a 1st round pick instead of a 2nd round pick and I'll do the deal.

Rip's not that bad a contract anymore, he's only got one more year guaranteed. He might also be the sort of vet that we might want on the squad for a season to help the young players along, though I admit not knowing too much about how Rip is personality-wise.

Thomas is the only player we have locked in long-term, but he's also a bit young for us to be throwing him away for Singler just to get out from under the contract. He could be a part of when we're actually good, and I don't have much faith in Singler. Ultimately doesn't make much sense to us unless we're getting more back.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing BB and TT doing there thing together. I just wish we had another truely exciting finisher. I expect to see a lot of blocks leading to fast breaks with Kemba pushing the ball up court to lob the alley to.....

There were two major Rip personality. The first was the Washington Wizards one up to around the 1st Detroit Championship where Rip had an overall game and was willing to both carry a team and at the same time defer and reduce his role for the better of the team.

Then there's the Flip Saunders Rip who developed an ego and wants to play with Chauncy again or at the very least a passing + chucking pg that would help alleviate his game and make him play hard but not smart and just let him come around multiple screens. This Rip also does not want mediocre coaches like Paul Silas and is not patient enough to compete.

Although I admit I didn't really think of this trade at all since at this point I don't know where Detroit's direction is nor do I have a true idea right now where each teams' needs are with the recent draft and the upcoming lock out but I think at this stage, Charlotte gets the same benefit from Reddick as getting Rip and Orlando gets their last chance at trying to compete by getting Rip. The one big question is whether they are willing to send Wallace to Orlando and whether they are interested in fully rebuilding considering they still have Gordon under contract. (Plus what is up with Detroit wanting Tyrus Thomas?)

Paul Silas is not mediocre bro, Flip Saunders,John Kuester & Terry Porter are mediocre coaches.

Considering what type of contending coach Rip wants, Silas falls under mediocre coach.

What Rip has shown to want is a more rigid style of coaching. One where he can still win by coming off screens but also one where he is a major part of the team. It's like wanting to be a huge part of the team but also wanting to be one trick pony at that.

Silas style is too free for someone like Rip and Bobcats are too far from the playoff picture.

Well I think Rip is doomed then, he might as well retire. I can't see a team doing that.

If we have a 2012 season, Maybe we trade TT later with DJ,Diaw for CP3? I see today that David West is opting out of the last year of his contract with the Hornets so this trade could become a reality after the Labor Talks are over and Caps are reset?
2013 or 2014 are the seasons this rebuild we are starting now should start to show team results both statistically with wins and at the gate.
