they are doing a cool thing on twitter, counting down the top 500 players in the league from worst to first.

Diop was the worst bobcat @ 417. seems fair.

Contracts aside, I would take a healthy Diop over Ajinca.

I wouldn't, and that isn't what the rankings are for.

I would trade them both for Cheese Doodles and a Big Slam Pepsi. :D

Derrick Brown # 399
DJ White # 387
Dominic McGuire # 382

i'd say dj white is definitely underrated here.

Sometimes I still can't believe we really traded to get Ajinca... it's like a bad dream.

Doesn't bother me too much; that pick ended up being Luke Babbitt. I'd say we won.

I think Derrick Brown is better than Dom McGuire. What were there scores? New links?

It doesn't make me feel better that we traded away an earlier pick for a later pick that busted. Perhaps we could have taken someone who doesn't suck. Or at least someone who had played professional basketball.

Ugh I'm getting mad again just thinking about it.

Anybody want to do a contest to guess the top 10? Maybe do a point for each name you get right on the list, 3 for exact guesses, and 1 for being 1-off?

If Jax doesn't break the top 50 I'll know it's crap.

I very much doubt Jax hits the top 50. I can probably name 50 better players off the top of my head:

Aldridge, Wallace, Ellis, Curry, Lee, Griffin, Gordon, Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Nash, Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Paul, West, Granger, Rose, Boozer, Noah, Deng, Bogut, James, Wade, Bosh, Howard, Johnson, Smith, Horford, Melo, Amare, KG, Pierce, Allen, Rondo, D. Williams, Love, Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka, Nowitzki, Terry, (had to start looking at team names here) Randolph, Gay, M.Gasol, T.Allen, Martin, Scola, Nene, Millsap, Iguodala.

You could argue about a couple of them, but I'd take any of those 50 over SJax for next year, and there are probably some guys I forgot.

I personally doubt any Bobcat is in the top 100. I think Diaw probably does rank the highest, with Maggette not far behind.

Did you really just say Tony Allen is better than Jax? Jason Terry? Nope.

As I said, you can argue about a couple of them... but yes, I'd much rather have Tony Allen than Stephen Jackson next year. Terry is perhaps a stretch, since he's old too. Here's a name to replace him now that I've looked: Al Jefferson, Lamar Odom, Wesley Matthews.
