Gorgues Rafael, a young coach of 25 years Valencia will travel this Friday, 9 the United States, where 20 days will test the Charlotte Bobcats.
"I agree this summer with Paul Silas and coaching on a campus, a few weeks later they called me to offer me a position as technical assistant in scouting defensive specialist. At first I could not believe, but this season they allow more zone defenses in the NBA and need the experience of European-style coaches, "said the NOW.
"I will help a team as a junior to have no Michael Jordan," says Gorgues, who must demonstrate their expertise in video editing. "It's a unique opportunity, so I did not think much," said the coach, who is not afraid of the challenge of entering a dressing room with Corey Maggette or Boris Diaw.
"I have two references to the bench, Jorge Navarro, which taught me many things in Paterna, and Pedro Martinez, the manager of the Gran Canaria 2014", concludes Gorgues who will live an experience similar to the Cavaliers George Fernandez.

Sorry mate. I'm not quite good at english but i'm doing my best using google translator.
I think there are good news for the B-Cats. Quite impact in Spain. Bring our style to the U.S. baby. Zone defence, what people want to see, I think.

No worries, just a little hard to follow.
Is Gorgues Raphael going to be a coach of some sort, or a scout?

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the euro coaches do in NBA: Ettore Messina, Rafa "Sardina" Gorgues...
They are assistant coaches, so no great pressure on them, but they can bring some european flavor to the defence. Spain defended great in the Olympic Games final game against USA, lots of changes and dynamics.

For us, coach "sardines", how he is called in the friendly way, it's a pioneer. Our Jebediah Springfield, similar as Pau Gasol in my opinion.
I do not see the american Bobcats fans so excited as we are, and it's sad.
C'mon people, are good news on the franchise!!

so did 3 new posters register for the sole purpose of posting in this thread? that might be a record.
we won some french fans when we got boris and ajinca. now its time for some new spanish fans. i love it. now i can complain about barcelona's diving in the soccer thread during the spring champions league games.
so what else do we know about this coach? and has anything been mentioned on the bobcats site?
