One Trade Scenario for every team in League

Post#1 » by JMAC3 » Tue Dec 6, 2011 7:28 pm

Here is a trade scenario with each team in the league. No three way trades allowed. let me know what you guys think. They range from small role players, to draft picks to even a few blockbuster deals. Was really tough considering we do not have a ton of assets.

76ers: Trade Tyrus Thomas for Craig Brackins and Evan Turner
Bucks: Trade Tyrus Thomas for Drew Gordon and Tobias Harris
Chicago: Trade Gerald Henderson and Maggette for Luol Deng and our first rounder back
Cleveland: Trade DJ White for Semih Erdan and Manny Harris
Celtics:Trade DJ Augustin for Avery Bradley and Etwaun Moore
Clippers:Trade DJ Augustin, Maggette, DJ White for Kaman and Aminu
Grizzlies: Trade DJ Augustin for Xavier Henry and Ish Smith
Hawks: Trade Tyrus Thomas for Marvin Williams and a first round pick
Heat:Trade DJ Augustin for Dexter Pittman, Norris Cole and Cash
Hornets:Trade Kemba, Tyrus, Maggette and first rounder for Paul and Ariza
Jazz:Trade Maggette and Kemba for Hayward, Okur and first Rounder
Kings:Trade DJ Augustin and 2nd rounder for Thompson and Honeycutt
Knicks:Sign and Trade Kwame and Hendo for Fields and Shumpert
Lakers: DJ Augustin for Ebanks,Character, and Darius Morris
Magic: Sign and Trade Kwame for Orton and First Rounder
Mavericks: Trade DJ White for Ian Mahinmi and Cash
Nets: Trade Tyrus Thomas for Damien James and Anthony Morrow
Nuggets:Trade Najera and 2nd rounder for Jordan Hamilton
Pacers:Tyrus Thomas for Rush, Hansborough, and AJ Price
Pistons:Trade Tyrus Thomas and Matt Carroll for Rip Hamilton
Raptors: Trade Second Round pick for Solomon Alabi
Rockets: Trade Carroll and First rounder for Terrence Williams, Marcus Morris, and Courtney Lee
Spurs: DJ White for James Anderson
Suns:DJ Augustin for Robin Lopez and Zabian Dowdell
Thunder: Trade Tyrus for Mullins, Robinson, and Reggie Jackson and first round pick
T-Wolves:Trade Tyrus, Hendo and first rounder for Derrick Williams, Beasley and Ellington
Blazers:Trade DJ Augustin and 2nd rounder for Elliot Williams, Luke Babbit, and Armon Johnson
Warriors:Trade Boris Diaw, Hendo, Najera and first rounder for Monte Ellis and Louis Amundson
Wizards:Trade DJ White and second rounder for Chris Singleton

Most of these are way too skewed in our favor.

Trade Carroll and First rounder for Terrence Williams, Marcus Morris, and Courtney Lee

Take Courtney Lee off, take Marcus Morris off, then it looks almost reasonable.

I like what you have done here JMAC - a great amount of effort obviously went into it.

Here are the ones I like:

Grizzlies: Trade DJ Augustin for Xavier Henry and Ish Smith

Suns:DJ Augustin for Robin Lopez and Zabian Dowdell
T-Wolves:Trade Tyrus, Hendo and first rounder for Derrick Williams, Beasley and Ellington
Wizards:Trade DJ White and second rounder for Chris Singleton

The other ones I would suggest are:
Cleveland: Trade Maggette and Diop for Jamison
(they get a SF, we get out of two contracts).

Pacers: Tyrus for Hibbert
(you know that one!!)

Most of them are unrealistic, but great effort.

If we would done any trade with Nets I want this year Miami second rounder to be shipped to us. I want to have a reason to enjoy this draft from the start to the very end and want to giggle when we'd draft some 30yrs old noob from nowhere.

All these trades work out contract wise. Most of them get something accomplished for both teams. The houston trade was more or less a way for them to get rid of some of their midlevel talent in exchange for a top 5 pick. If you look at there team they have great depth, but absolutely no superstar and we would give them a chance at one there is no point of being three deep at every position.
PG-Lowry,Dragic,Flynn
SG-Martin, Courtney Lee, T-will
SF-Budinger,Morris, Parsons,Blakely
PF-Scola, Patterson, Cousin
C-Hill,Thabeet, Motiejunas, Hayes?,

Also, the trade saves them a little bit of money so they will have more to go after Nene with. Honestly not as scewed as you might think. They could use Amnesty on Carroll when they got him if they wanted as well. They are clearly not that high on T-will, idk I think a deal could be made with them quite easily and take a few guys off their hands.

Turner does not really fit there system and they are really old at PF with Brand and Thomas would give them a future there. And they are really crowded at the Wings, plus Turner has not really built up a huge demand for him in trades. Probably not the best trade on the list, but not crazy. Brackins is a throw in with upside to even up contracts. Turner could possibly play SF for us, but I was not willing to throw in a first rounder because Turner has underperformed greatly so far.

Regardless of fit, talent, whatever, they won't be trading a #2 overall pick so soon after that draft.

At least not for Tyrus.

Tyrus was the 4th overall pick haha. Turner is 23 and Tyrus is 25 not that big of a difference.

Tyrus Stats 10.2pts 5.5 rebounds 1.6 assists 18.25per

Turner Stats 7.2pts 3.9 rebounds 2.0 assists 10.87per

And that is with Tyrus being not 100%.

Again its all about need and building for the future for both of these teams in the future.

They need Meeks outside shooting. Holiday is the only true point guard. Lou Williams is good combo guard to back them up. This would also shut people up about trading Iggy. I would have to think they would think about it, but yeah they would probably say no. I did about 30 other deals so sorry if some are not perfect.

I would say my favorite is:

Clippers deal scenario: Clippers end up signing Jordan, makes Kaman expendable. He is on his last year so we have options plus we get a Center for this year. We give them DJ so they can Amnesty Mo Williams and still have Bledsoe as a backup for at least another year. They get Maggette a scoring SF to help them win now. Throw in DJ White as a backup to Griffin because they really dont have one. We get a young SF in Aminu to help rebuilding process while still keeping all our young pieces. Win-Win for both sides.

Tyrus = 2006 Draft
Turner = 2010 Draft

Go ask the Sixers if they'd consider that trade. You'll get laughed at.

Pretty much every trade in the NBA is favored toward one team instead of the other it is just from whose point of view that won the trade. But yes I will let you win this one. that trade sucks. are you happy?

Why would I do that? We have DJ White, a newer Elton Brand. We also have a system that wouldn't cater to old Elton Brand now.

Now, a Tyrus Thomas/Elton Brand swap would have been genius last year. You know why? Amnesty. Would have saved us from two bad contracts.

It is to soon to amnesty Tyrus. At only 25 give him at least another year or two to get it right. He showed real promise at times the last two years before he was injured.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
