Are there ANY trade the Bobcats should make?

With all the activity going on around the league, is there any deal reasonably available that our front office could and should make? Not an impossible move, but one that would get us the scorer we need to keep games somewhat competitive AND build toward our future?

Not at this point. We need to do some player evaluation before making any moves. Will Hendo continue to progress like he did last season, is Tyrus the player we saw in the first half of the season or the second half, etc.
There is nothing out there for us. Now if Tyrus plays like he did in the first half and can warrant his salary I say we should make a move to trade him to a contender near the trade deadline. We need a different type of player to play alongside Biyombo.

I'd like to find a way to work something with Utah Jazz. They own their 1st and the GSW 1st (Top 8 protected).Dont know if we have something they want that we would part with tho. But I'd really like to get another 2012 pick somewhere in the range of #10 - #16 if possible. Since we are rebuilding, and we have Hendo, Biyombo and Kemba (and for now, DJ) adding 2 more quality players from this 2012 draft would have us in a good position in 2-3 years.

That works. gets us another lotto pick next year plus will really clear out some salary by getting us off the hook for the next 4 years of Thomas' increasingly expensive deal.
UT is loaded with 4 men right now though. Millsap, Jefferson, Favors. Not sure if they'd bite.

If Lakers end up dealing both Gasol and Bynum to Orlando for Howard. Then Tyrus or Diaw to them for a combination of Ebanks, Character, a first rounder either theres or Dallas and Darius Morris.
Other possible locations for Thomas- Boston, Pacers, Nets
DJ Augustin maybe a good fit for Suns as a backup point to Steve Nash and maybe eventual predecessor. I would take back Robin Lopez back for him straight up.

OJ Mayo rumors have started up again. Hes a bit undersized, but he could be a nice fit in the backcourt rotation assuming the Bobcats don't have to give up anything significant. Chris Kaman, clippers, is probably going to be going on the trade rumor list assuming the Clippers match the Warriors over to DeAndre Jordan. Marreese Speights is supposedly being offered to the Nuggets for a future 2nd. I wouldn't mind seeing the Bobcats pay that much for him.
Beyond that I would imagine a whole ton more will happen when/if Dwight Howard and Chris Paul get traded. Those two teams would probably be holding fire sales on their remaining roster.

IF we loose out on Kwame then I would be interested in Kaman.
Diaw for Kaman swap.
Why for the Clips? Well they just matched Jordan and the is the future for them at C. Of course they could always trade Jordon to get CP3, then all this would change. However I also see it being likely that if they included Jordan than Okafor would be coming back to LA ( I think that is going to be the only way Stern accepts, is to get rid of contracts and get young). Anyway, Diaw has 3 million less on his deal which gives the Clips more flexibility. Diaw would also give the Clips versatility as a back-up at both C for Jordan and PF for Griffen as well as giving them the ability to play some 3 (which they are weak at).
For the Bobcats we get a C for a year who has an expiring contract similar to Diaw. We can then decide if we want to keep him going into the future or even flip him later in the season. If we don't get Kwame we will need a true C anyway and we can afford to give up Diaw with Thomas and White at PF. Kaman also gives us more of an offensive weapon and improves rebounding.

I like Eric Maynor for DJ and Okc 1st in 2012 but I would add BJ Mullens from OKC to make it work. trade checker 5945596. Mullins is 7.0 275 center (project) drafted fron Ohio State in 2009. Eric and Kemba could be our 2 points guards and maybe we could pickup Bibby as a FA to mentor them. Then we could amensity Diop, and Sign FA Steve Haws.
Starting lineup
Bibby,Eric, ,Kemba(splits time at 1 and 2)
Hendo/Carroll
Mags, DBrown, Diaw (Both Diaw and Brown can play 3 or 4)
TT White
Haws, BB, BJ
We use Okc late 2012 1st on best point available after we draft best available SF 3 with our top 10 2012 protected. Then we can trade Mags in 2013 as an expiring for another 2013 1st round pick to replace the one we will be losing for the TT trade in 2009.

Have you been keeping up or following the transactions by the rest of the NBA? Hawes signed back with Philly and Bibby signed with New York. Come on man, keep up!

Really? I'd be all over that!! Speights for a 2nd round pick would be an awesome trade for us IMO.

I'd be all over that & it would help us salary wise, Speights got game but is still developing(& foul prone)

When you told me I was wrong yesterday about the proposed CP3 trade & in fact you were wrong did I call you out??
Did I tell you to keep up since you obviously didn't know what you were talking about??
Please keep it clean & don't berate other posters.
