Here's a link to SI's going into the season:
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/w ... &hpt=hp_c2Unfortunately, we are last. I figured most people would expect us to be bad, but I didn't imagine "worst in the league" bad.

You mean fortunately we are first to choose either Drummond, Davis, or Lamb. I like our chances! We movin' on up!

battery, you are going to be crushed when we finish with the worst record and end up drafting 4th.
i made some comments in a similar thread on the general board a few weeks ago about the bobcats being the worst team in the league. i think that in terms of talent and depth, we are the worst team. i cant think of another team that player for player has worse talent than we do. however, i dont think we will finish last for the following reasons
1. locker room - these guys genuinely like each other. there are no egos on the team, no knuckleheads, no off court distractions.
2. chemistry - we are young, but most of the team spent all summer playing together. and we have roughly the same nucleus as the 2nd half of last season.
3. silas - these players love silas and they will play their asses off for him, at least for one more year.
4. defense/hustle - the bobcats have always been pretty decent defensively and we are always known for how hard we play. wallace may be gone but many of his traits will remain.
5. something to prove - the team is young and has a lot of guys with something to prove. most of the vets are either reclamation projects (maggette) or in contract years (diaw). i dont see anyone on this team coasting this year.
so i agree that we have the worst roster, but i dont think we will finish with the worst record. some other team will have a massive collapse with players fighting, coaches getting fired, devastating injuries, trade demands, off court arrests etc... i dont think it will be us (of course cant predict injuries).

Did Toronto get contracted as part of the new CBA?

Stop pissing in our cheerios.

Slam, get in here and take Hamilton away to the reeducation camp. Camp 1 please. But go heavy on the torture, show him Tyson Chandler highlights from last season. That should make him come around real fast.

Depending on whether(When) we trade DJ and Diaw. Should have 2012 draft pick in top 5. For sure top 8. Not 1..

I've still got Washington, Toronto, and maybe Detroit worse than us.

I applaud this post & agree completely but especially agree with the bolded, we play too hard to finish last though we will only win 16 games or so imo.
I think we are in the perfect rebuilding situation with a great draft,a young team with great chemistry & a class front office, I don't think our future depends on us getting the top pick which even if we finished last we probably wouldn't get anyway.

I agree. I don't think we NEED that top pick. I think, as it stands now, there are a group of probably 4 guys that could each help us. I still am not convinced that anyone in this draft will be a star but there are probably a punch of future consistent borderline all star players. Therefore you don't necessarily need the 1st pick this year.

I wonder if Jordan will attend the draft lottery this year. Not sure what would entertain me more, the Cats having the worst record and then watching Jordan's face when we pick 4th or the conspiracy theorists crying foul if we get #1.

There are 4 or 5 teams at the bottom who are on about the same level, it just depends whose younger players have a break-through season.

Nah....
Wait a few years and it becomes cool again. If I could have a handle that references Jason Hart or Bernard Robinson or somebody like that (that dates from when they played) I would.
