Diaw will start. The only question is at which spot.
I wonder whether Mullens or Ely would dress.

I wouldn't be opposed to try Kemba - Henderson - Diaw - DJW - Smack lineup if Corey is out to see whether Boris can still play SF in stretches. It would be basically out 5 best currently-ready-to-go players. LOL.

Mullens is supposed to play. Interesting because Paul Silas knew Mullens from high school. If there is anyone that can really help Mullens become a player, it's Silas, and the fact he knew him in high school only helps. Silas has already said that he wants Mullens shooting, so it should be interesting to see what he brings. He is an athletic big who can shoot the ball. Even a three pointer isn't out of the question with him. But he is also a decent rebounder. Lots of potential if Silas can reel him in.

I heard it was his wrist and that he's golden to go now?

Instead of DJ white starting I'd put Doris there and start someone else at SF. I don't think Boris can really handle SF right now. Though I'd LOVE to be proven wrong!

Re: GT: Bobcats @ Hawks - Preseason Game #2
I think this is how minutes should be broken down tomorrow night..
PG- DJ (22) Kemba (14) Uzoh (12)
SG- Hendo (22) Carroll (12) Kemba (14)
SF- Maggette (24) UPS (20) Hendo (4)
PF- Diaw (22) White (14) Biyombo (19) Ely (4)
C- Diop (18) Biyombo (17) Mullens (9) Ely (2)
I would cut Griffin before tomorrow because he will just take minutes away from Biz and Mullins. Uzoh should get a decent look tomorrow if warrants any reason to keep as a third pg.
Also, I would say forget about Cunningham and then give the last roster spot to either Uzoh or Ely. I would say we need Uzoh more then Ely at this point with the additions of Biz and Mullens. If we want to keep Ely or sign Dante I am on board with cutting Najera.

lol diop should not get the majority minuites at C, let alone start, we already know hes a big sack of garbage, mullens or biyombo needs to start with diop getting [2] minuites instead of ely

No, Diop needs to get ready for the season. We can't start Diaw at center for 66 games and Mullens/Biyombo aren't ready to contribute.
Diop is going to be the man, at least for a short while. We really need him to play well; if he becomes a defensive force like he was in Dallas, a playoff team might take a chance on him.

Bismack needs to start from day one, no way in hell is Diop going to be the man, NOBODY and I mean NOBODY will take on his contract unless we take on a more horrid one, the only way he could shed his reputation as absolute trash is if he starts playing like the reincarnation of Kareem Abdul-Jabar, and there is a better chance for pigs to fly in that case, Diop needs to be 4th on the depth chart, he should have been amnestyed and he would have if we had the Centers we do now.

Re: GT: Bobcats @ Hawks - Preseason Game #2
We had this discussion last year; players need to earn playing time. They don't need to be rewarded minutes just for the purpose of playing time.
Bismack just signed his contract and he's yet to play in a game. Diop, as of today, is the best center on this lineup and he's the one that should be starting until someone proves otherwise. Has Ely proven that yet? No. Has Mullens? No. Bismack hasn't even played a game. No one can expect Diaw or gimpy Thomas to start at center throughout the season. It'll be Gerald Wallace all over again; gimp butter in the post, injury after injury (at least for Thomas, Diaw has proven to be reliable).
Rag on Diop all you like but he's the best center we have right now.

Lol, good job being a hypocrite, Diop has earned absolutely NOTHING, he doesn't deserve to be the starting Center over any Center on this team, I don't know why you love garbage players so much, but Diop may be the worst Center in the NBA, and he most certinaly isn't the best center on the team. I would argue Ajinca is a better Center and thats saying something lmao

As long as Bismack is on court with proper PG, i.e. starting if DJ isn't playing, to feed him and not just Uzoh, I'm ok with that. With him missing so many time he should starter neat starter minutes unless in foul trouble.

Judging from what everyone is saying from practice I would say Biz is about 5 times more ready to contribute than Diop is....
I understand playing Diop to help showcase him, but the only reason he played so much last game was to "force" him into getting in shape. This is our last tuneup. We know what we have in Diop. We still need to figure out what we have in Biz and Mullens and how they will fit into the current group of guys. Therefore they should get the majority of minutes. We still have all season that we can "showcase" Diop, though I still doubt it's going to make a difference.

As a Supafan, I watched the game the other night. Diop was the most capable center playing in that game thus in my mind, he's the #1 right now.

Matt Carroll can also make FT's in practice; doesn't mean he can hit them in the games. Diop doesn't necessarily need to play a ton of minutes tonight but unless BB erupts with a triple double or something of that nature, Diop should enter the season as the starter. It's the same situation that we're faced with DJ; Kemba will eventually start but he's not ready yet. Neither is Bismack (most likely).

First of all, bad comparison. Matt Carroll is an excellent free throw shooter in games..not sure what you were going for there.
I don't think you need anything close to a triple double to say Biz should start. There is a big difference between DJ/Kemba and Diop/Bismack. DJ is a capable starter who has had success. He is also a realistic trade chip that is on an expiring deal. Of course he is going to start. Diop on the other hand? He hasn't done anything his entire career. He isn't a starter and that is obvious. In the NBA it has far less to do with maturation, especially if your not trying to win this year, which we aren't. It is 100 percent beneficial to us to start Biz from day 1 and let him mature through experience. I'll bet you anything Diop will not be the day 1 starter. If he were even close to being in shape, maybe, but he is nowhere close to that. Even if he was in shape it wouldn't be smart to start him. Biz is the starter.
