The "Relax, we're supposed to suck" Thread

Just want to get everyone's expectations down to reasonable... we're gunning for the highest draft pick in this year's good draft, and I'm sure Mr. Cho will trade away assets for other futures. It's all part of the plan. Losing 4 or 5 in a row... that's in line with the 2011 Cats.

Smile, relax, and have fun. See how good other teams play against us, and enjoy in their good basketball. Kemba, Bismack, and Hendo are taking lumps, but it's cool... hopefully it will make them stronger. Yes, I'm a cats fan, but this is part of the plan, and I'm fully on board the train!

Ewww they're hard to watch. We don't play defense like an NBA team. Maggette makes 10 million and he should be at the end of a good teams bench. Just hope they don't bring in some average player with a contract like Diop again. Ready for the draft.

so far we're tanking the wrong way, in a tanking season the youngplayers are suppose to get the most minutes, nobody wans to see mags and diaw for a majority of the time, especially when your "star" rookie is goin head to head with roy cannidate. Its inexcuseable, now everyone who looks at the boxscore would see kyrie pullng kembas pants down when the truth is kemba never had a chance to play him, and if he did kyrie wouldnt have plays a good as he did since kemba played a lot better defense.

Stun I watched the game last night. Kemba didn't play much last night, because DJ was on fire while K was missing layups. He really struggled last night.

DJ was on fire while allowing Irving to torch him for bigger numbers on the opposite end(he didn't play at all during the 4th, it was that bad) the problem is nobody on the coaching staff evidently values defense and only looks at offense

       I Don't think Coach Silas is Relaxing. Nobody likes losing
including MJ. White has earned his way into starting lineup and now I believe Mullens has also.
Byron has earned the right to start tonight against NYK in the Garden. Diaw is inconsistent and is best off the bench and I'm beginning to think Mags is also. Maybe DBrown should start also? Backcourt looks goood so leave it alone and rotate Kemba between 1 and 2. Give BB at least 20 minutes a night.
Diaw will pick up his numbers from bench and then we need to trade hime for a 2012 draft pick when TT is healthy
1st team DJ, Hendo ,UPS,DJW, BM
2nd team KW, Higgins/Carroll,Mags,Diaw BB ( when TT is back rotate him between 4 and 5)
Bench Diop unless your need him to Foul people
IR Williams Najeria

And for the Record We don't suck! AND We Always give it our best to Win

No, you play the players that have earned playing time. Besides, if you want to be technical, the "star" rookie is Biyombo since he was picked first.

How will they see that? Augustin played 38 minutes, all at the point IIRC. Higgins played two minutes at the point, meaning Kemba had eight minutes at PG. Kemba played a total of 13 minutes, which means he played 5 at SG. You know who that leaves him being matched up against for the most part? Ramon Sessions and Daniel Gibson. Their stat lines? 11 and 8 points respectfully. If anyone looks at that box score and thinks Kemba "had his pants pulled down" by Kyrie doesn't know how to read a box score. Actually, let's go through it together.

Kemba didn't come in until the second quarter. Sessions, Gibson, and Gee started the second for the Cavs.

2nd quarter

5:58 D.J. White enters the game for Kemba Walker
Kyrie Irving enters the game for Ramon Sessions

They don't play against each other.

3rd quarter

3:47 Daniel Gibson enters the game for Kyrie Irving
3:15 Kemba Walker enters the game for D.J. Augustin

Yet again, Kyrie and Kemba aren't playing against each other. You know why? Kyrie is a starter, Kemba is not. Instead, he's facing Sessions and "Boobie" Gibson who exposed him and DJ several times throughout the game. On top of that, against marvelous defenders Sessions and Gibson, he goes 1-6.

Stun704 wrote:and if he did kyrie wouldnt have plays a good as he did since kemba played a lot better defense.

Gibson and Sessions had success against Kemba. Kyrie would have killed him just like he killed DJ. Let's not kid ourselves.

Thanks to J Augustin and Silas, http://www.nba.com/rookie-ladder/?ls=iref:nbahpt1 Kemba isn't even the top 5 for ROY

I've noticed that Kemba needs some time get comfortable on the court. Hence, 15-20 minutes isn't enough. For the love of god, give this kid 30minutes and I'm 100% sure his impact will be positive at the end

Kemba isn't Top 5 because he isn't GOOD enough to be Top 5. The seven guys in front of him are better players right now. Hell, Jeremy Pargo played with last year in the Summer League and we passed on him for Sherron Collins.

Minus Knight and Fredette, I would take all of those players over Kemba right now and I would have taken them over Kemba in June.

He played with us last season. He's Jannero's brother. We gave fatboy a contract over him.

Good to see you on the boards _tijo_

I am quite relaxed but the fact is that we are not meant to suck...we are meant to lose & we are meant to tank but the thought of sucking grates me...

We play Charlotte basketball which is 48 minutes of hell for the opposition, defend hard, rebound hard & run the opposition off their feet, as long as we do this then I am happy even if we lose every game.

Yeah that Pargo guy is a player. Nice pickup for Memphis.

Problem with Silas, i think right now and his rotations is that he's a win now guy, but we're obviously not in a position to win right now. Our team is perfect for tanking. Add to that a shortened training camp, a compressed schedule and you have problems getting comfortable with certain lineups and rotations. I mean i highly doubt Silas didn't have a clue as to who or what Mullens could do till he started draining almost every shot he threw towards the basket. Hence the increased PT for Mullens.

We're still going to hustle, play scrappy ball to win every night though, i mean we're not the Washington Wizards over here.

It's all part of the plan...

Yeah, this team sucks on the floor. I'm sure when MJ feels like we have the pieces to contend, the rotation, the coach, everything will fall into place.

Chill...
