Tank vs. Stank

I am okay with losing to get a higher draft but . . .

I am not okay with the putrid product the Bobcats put on the floor last night.

I am not okay with Silas's indefensible rotations.

I am not okay with the decaying carcasses of Matt Carroll, Tyrus Thomas and Gana Diop.

I am not okay with Steve Novak raining 3s on our heads, or Jeremy Lin having his way.

Emphasize defense and ball movement. Lay some groundwork for when we draft more talent. Fire the coach (give his son a try, we're good at that), and waive someone (Carroll & Higgins come to mind) to get some one on the court who will wipe the f***ing smile off Tyson Chandler's face. Try something. F**K, have some pride.

The best coach in the world might add 4 or 5 wins to our total this season. We're just bad, there's no way around it.

You don't cut players with big contracts in the NBA because then you can never trade them away. Even Diop could realistically be traded once he is an expriring.

I'm a little confused by the hatred for Higgins that I've seen in some parts. He has a nice pull up jumper and he makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. To me, he looks like somebody who could one day be a solid player. That's all you can really expect from the 12th man on the bench.

We do not struggle because life is hard, Life is hard because we struggle. There is no escape from the horrible season that lies in front of us. Accept it and move on. Try and find some small positives and look forward to a high draft pick and salary cap space.

i think a lot of us feel this way. we know we are going to suck this year. we know the tank is in full battle mode, especially with djx2, maggette and reggie out. but some of the recent performances from this team are more than just a lack of talent. some of the play is inexcusable.

the last thing we want is to foster a losing environment that allows players to coast through this season w/out any repercussions.

i think we should expect to see some serious dysfunction on offense considering the youth, inexperience and lack of practice. i can live with that. however, at the very least, we should expect maximum effort on the defensive end and rebounding every night. you dont have to be talented to hustle. you just have to be in shape and have desire.

we are a month into the season, so lack of conditioning can't be an excuse any longer.

last night was ridiculous and it can't continue, even in a tanking season. it will poison everyone, top to bottom

I have come to the conclusion that we are not tanking. We simply stink worse than I imagined possible. Will be a great race to the end to see who stinks worse between Charlotte and Washington. My money is on us.

To get the top pick we have to have one of the very worst records. And I am sorry Fats to expect a team this bad to bring it every single night with this year's compressed schedule just isn't realistic. These are nba players not machines.

This is true. Our depleted roster also means the rotations are going to suck.

Can we amnesty Maggette already. I think that guy's had more phantom injuries. Maybe sign somebody like Juwan Howard or Kurt Thomas just to be a wise influence.

Yep

By the way, Mags was always a bum. I'm glad he's riding pine. Tyrus though.... Tyrus is cementing himself as the posterboy of the amnesty clause.

I don't think anyone was expecting us to suck this bad. We're a different team without DJ.

It is what it is. As long as the FO make the right decision as to who the next coach will be, because at the end of the day it's the coach who takes his team as far as he can.

I agree with e4 on Higgins. I agree with fat, yesterday it looked like players were told it is ok to tank. And i hate Silas for benching Bismack. Yes he had aful couple of minutes, including that very odd turnover but I would rather let him to play through, have a bad game if necessary but not subbing him out till garbage time. I don't think he is that type that could have problems with confidence but still.

What is amazing is we don't have the worst record (yet) while playing like this. I guess we all expected similar result maybe even worse standing wise but the performance is lacking. it is a big difference not having DJ out there, with him we run offense properly and if we suck he at least look like a real genuine pg. I can live with us shooting like bunch of Diops but would welcome trying and looking like players are on the same page and know what to do.

We can always excuse we are missing two and half of starters (the half being either DJ White or Reggie Williams) and with the exception of Henderson all of out best players but it won't make games more watchable. Tyrus, I can't say what's wrong with him but he has been terrible.

3-14 vs. 0-1

So much different. Really bad with him, and really really bad without him.

Why can't we have a fanbase without constant older point guard vs newer point guard bandawgons battles? :) I feel like we would do it if their names were McInnis and Burleson. Just because we can. :)

sadly we will have this debate until we get a pg who is in the top half of the league as a starter. we have never had a top 15 pg.

I disagree. I would argue Felton was a top 15 during the playoff season.
