Brandon Roy anybody?

Brandon Roy has been considering making a comeback.

'It's hard being away from the game," said Roy. "Don't be surprised if you see Brandon Roy make his way back to the court."

Roy's decision to retire wasn't all health related.

"There's something to it, but it's not the right time for me to get into it right now," Roy said. 'I've been doing some treatment and I'm trying to leave the window open to returning to basketball."

It's obvious he is not what he once was but based off of last year's Mavs series he would not be a bad addition if we could get him for cheap? He could add some veteran leadership and be the "old man" on our team but he's not old at all although his knees are. I hope Cho at least considers the idea.

he'd obviously be chasing rings as a role playing guard on a contender. he isnt going to come back just to get blown out by 20 every night.

and like DJ said, he didnt want to be here 7 years ago. screw him.

Can somebody explain the 7 years ago talk? I was just getting into following the Bobcats then? I thought we just "blew it" at the time passing on him.

We liked him but he refused to work out here. He's a punk I don't have much sympathy for him

he came in and got "sick" or was "too tired" to compete against rudy gay, due to "jetlag". we scheduled another workout for him right before the draft but then he cancelled and rumors were going around about how his agent was trying to steer him away from charlotte and towards a west coast team.

here is some stuff from dx

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Brandon-Roy-343/

Jonathan Givony: What happened in the Charlotte workout a week ago with Rudy Gay?

Brandon Roy: The Charlotte workout…everything got messed up. My flight got delayed from Seattle. I got into the airport in Charlotte at 10:30…I got to the hotel at around 12 and I didn’t get any room service that night. Waking up in the morning around 7, it was 4 Seattle time…I was really just jet-lagged. I felt like I was in the middle of the night. I went through the testing and all that…at the end of it I was fatigued, so I talked to Bernie and he understood…we even talked about pushing the workout a little bit with me coming in from the west coast with our time being three hours behind. He understood and I think he wants me to come back later this month…I think he understood and hopefully next time we’ll be better prepared. It was no big deal on their side I think.

Jonathan Givony: So you did the entire workout?

Brandon Roy: No, I just did the agility stuff and things like that.

Jonathan Givony: 15 minutes?

Brandon Roy: No, Charlotte’s is pretty long. About 40 minutes or so it lasted.

Jonathan Givony: Did you do any competitive stuff with Rudy Gay?

Brandon Roy: No, we didn’t get anything competitive in. I think he’ll be in Portland this Thursday with Adam [Morrison]…so that should be a pretty good workout.

Jonathan Givony: Was it disappointing not to be able to do a competitive workout with Rudy in Charlotte considering that they have the #3 pick?

Brandon Roy: More than anything I was more upset that I wasn’t able to do the workout. Talking with Bernie, I think their biggest thing is they don’t care who you work out with, that’s not a big deal to them…they just want to see you get in and do the work done. It’s really weird because the workouts I’ve seen the competitive stuff only lasts 20 minutes, so it’s really hard to judge how guys compete in that amount of time. I was disappointed that I wasn’t able to do the workout…not that Rudy was there or Adam was going to be there. It was just the fact that I wasn’t able to complete it because I was so drained. It was more of that than knowing that Rudy was there.

Rick Bonnell has a big story in today's paper saying that Brandon Roy pulled out of his Charlotte workout, which was shocking, especially as Chad Ford just updated his mock draft to show Roy going to Charlotte, where new part-woner Michael Jordan is said to be a fan. (Rudy Gay and Adam Morrison are also widely believed to be possibilities in Charlotte.)

Screw Roy. If we're going to bring in a washed up scorer, it better be Gilly, Allen Iverson, or Tracy McGrady.

I wish we drafted TT and traded him for LaMarcus instead of Portland.

But I think we still had hope for May then?

You don't know how excited I would be to see that team play. Steve Francis can be the Super Sixth Man.

I was crazy high on LMA going into that draft. Thought he would be a great running mate for Felton and a perfect pairing with Okafor.

Team Larry Brown

Felton
Good Jax
Wallace
LMA
Okafor

With Larry Hughes as the Super Sixth Man, that's a 50 win team.

Tyson Chandler in that spot, without the injuries, is probably about as good.

Yeah I think he would have been great with Okafor, let Okafor play the role playing role that he is suited.
