Plugged-in person predicts Nate McMillan will eventually land in Charlotte. Put it in the category of informed speculation.

Didn't realize he was from Raleigh originally.

Him or Mike D'Antoni hopefully, I heard that MJ really likes McMillan.

I'd be very pleased to have him replace the very offensively limited Paul Silas.

Nate is good with young players, too. Pretty critical of point guards but Portland has been sending him terrible ones for a while.

Ironically he has been burying Felton six feet under thus far. Wonder what he could do with Augustine or Kemba?

DJA I think would work out well with Nate, he'd have to play defense though. Kemba I'm a little worried about, not sure he has the PG IQ that Nate craves. But, Kemba plays hard on defense though. Tough to say. One thing is for sure, Nate is not going to tolerate a frontcourt that can't score in the post.

Nate McMillan would be a very good choice as coach. Looking at who is likely to be out there and his natural connection to North Carolina, he is probably going to be the best choice out there. I would be happy with him being our coach.

ugh... his teams are usually so boring to watch though, but he makes more sense than d'antoni. i dont want d'antoni to coach again until he also gets full control of the roster decisions. they only way he will succeed is when he gets to build his team with the players he knows fit his system. its now obvious he absolutely refuses to change his system to fit players.

The thing is... as much as I love Nate, if he buries either of those young point guards he will severely hurt their self esteem, which wouldn't be pretty to see. Nate's driven both Andre Miller and Raymond under the dirt, and I just would hate to see that happen to Kemba and DJ. Nate will be infuriated when he sees DJ White attempt to rock the dream shake, that's for sure.

That's what we need - antoher HC destroying the confidence of our young players.

Felton is terrible, Miller is ancient, and Jamal Crawford is a SG. The Blazers had their best years when Brandon Roy and Steve Blake were sharing the point.

Felton was very solid in New York, but right when they sen't him to Denver, and then to Portland, I guess he just got tired, man.

Nate just had it rough. The team was destined for greatness but two injuries to two vital players hinder that from happening. Who knew how far Portland can go with a healthy team with Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Greg Oden. You can put that in the What If's of NBA history.

Felton has never been a good point guard. He's been an okay one, when in top shape, but never a good one. Jumper has always been broken, decision making is suspect at best, and some of the worst lateral quickness I've ever seen for a guy that could down the court.

I don't believe it was Nate's fault, at all. He had to adjusts to so many peculiar circumstances, so much in fact I bet you he's had to overhaul the entire system and rotation multiple times. This firing doesn't do justice to Nate's coaching profile, and I for one would be ecstatic to have Nate coach here as long as he doesn't bury DJ and Kemba.

Nate is one of the best head coaches in the game.

I think he ends up in NY though & we end up with Stephen Silas.

Guys I don't hate on nate per say, but as a Blazer fan who's seen him for the last seven years I'd say he's average and not great. His pace has always been among the slowest, his teams haven't performed well defensively and while he's gotten wins, he doesn't really excel in any individual area as a coach. I don't think you guys would hate him at least immediately, but I think those that consider him one of the best in the game are heavily overrating his abilities.
